Teays Valley volleyball wrapped up its season with a hard-fought, three-set match against Big Walnut. Despite the loss, the Vikings showcased their growth and improvement.
Coach Amy Horsley noted that the team had "their best week of practice," honing skills like hitting, coverage, serve receive, serving, blocking, and tooling the block. Film review and strategic planning paid off, but early nerves hindered their start.
Big Walnut took an early 7-1 lead in the first set, capitalizing on Teays Valley's four hitting errors and sluggish defense. A timeout helped settle the Vikings, who battled back but couldn't overcome their mistakes. The second set began promisingly, with Teays Valley jumping to an 8-1 lead behind solid hitting and aggressive serving. However, Big Walnut rallied, exploiting the Vikings' serve-receive struggles.
