"We've talked about being aggressive all season and taking care of the ball," said TV coach Trevor Younkin. "When you're playing a team like Worthington Kilbourne, who's 17-5, we knew we had the capability to handle them. We showed that in the first quarter. It seemed like they weren't used to tournament play, having not won a tournament game in three years. We, on the other hand, have been here before. Yes, we're young, and yes, we're somewhat experienced. But they fought through it, causing us frustration and turnovers. There are many factors that contributed to this loss, and it ultimately comes down to our youth. We'll use this as a learning experience, grow over the summer, and come back stronger next season. We'll return almost our entire team, except for Kylie Burgett. As I told the team in the locker room, we need to take what we've learned this year, apply it over the summer, and carry it into next season."
The loss brings the Lady Vikings' season to a close with an 8-16 overall record.
