Top players returning:
Abbey Overfield (SR). Abbey was OHC Honorable Mention her Sophomore year. She scored 170 points last year which was 7.4 per game. Shot 31% from 2FG. And 48% from the FT line. She had 138 rebounds which was 5.8 per game; and 54 steals which was 2.3 a game. She led the team last year in assists with 49 (2.1 per game). Good offensive game, but great defensive player as well.

She broke the Triad career block record as a junior. The record was 100 and she has 128 so far going into senior year.

Top players lost:
Seniors lost to graduation - Emma Ferguson, Kaley Nott, and Ashlyn McCoy

Emma Ferguson (SR). Emma was OHC Honorable Mention her Freshman year and runs our offense as our point guard (sharing the responsibilities with Abbey). Very goo competitor.

Ashlyn McCoy (JR). Ash led the team in rebounds (156) last season and also led the team in charges (19). Great defensive presence.

New impact players:
Gracie Martin
Jazz Ford

Final Comments:
Strengths: We have the ability to play fast. What we lack in height, we make up for in speed. We just need to fine tune our ball handling skills. The girls have really been buying into all concepts, and we are looking to be very aggressive on defense.

General comments: We are in a bit of a rebuilding year. Losing 3 starters from last year, we need to focus on chemistry and getting this group to gel together and step into some new roles. We need to be able to make up for some points lost to graduation as well as rebounds. We are working hard on defense and trying to strategize with our low numbers on how best to keep our stamina up. We are focusing on players skills right now, and getting better every day.

Goals and expectations: Last year we were successful in our goals, but with losing 3 starters in our seniors who played huge roles for us, we have to find our chemistry again. The three goals that we had last year to improve upon, we are still keeping as goals for this season with our new group - limit turnovers; better shooting percentages; and breaking the press. So we have designed the season and our practices to focus on those three areas. Right now we have 6 Varsity players, and only 11 total girls on the roster. We will only be able to do 2 quarter JV games this year. But right now we are focused on getting 1% better every day.
