Who are some of the Libero's in the state (no matter what class, or Division) we all should keep a eye on this season? I'll start with one; Emmy Showalter; Jr. Windham High School (D-4). Freshman Year: 205 Digs, Sophomore Year: 389 Digs. Career: 594 Digs, 854 Serve Receptions, 13 Aces. Super Athletic, quick, will dive for balls.. Let's show these girls the RESPECT, Love they deserve..

Thank you for recognizing a position that is rarely acknowledged. Many defensive players provide valuable contributions on almost every play setting the tone by providing a solid accurate pass from a tough kill or in serve receive. Definitely an under appreciated role- THANKS!

Class of 2020 Independence libero Maddy Bilinovic is easily the state's top defensive player. She is a Penn State recruit:

A 5’5″ DS/L out of Cleveland, Ohio, Bilinovic helped lead Independence to a state semifinal appearance this past season. In total, they’ve gone 46-6 in her two seasons on varsity.

In those two years, Bilinovic has logged 955 total digs, 135 aces, 97 assists and just 25 reception errors compared to 1,028 service receptions.

On the club side, Bilinovic plays with the 16 Reaser team for Academy Volleyball Cleveland.

Penn State is coming off of a 33-2 season in which they were co-Big Ten champions at 19-1 in the conference and made it to the Final Four. They had seven defensive specialists on the roster in 2017 with all having sophomore or later classification – meaning they would graduate by the time 2020 rolls around.

I have followed her stats, I would agree she's the top in the State. I did not know she was going to Penn St. That is AMAZING!

Sorry Dad, those aren't eye opening numbers. Do a little research.

Good luck on your daughters career, I'm glad she's playing

I think this discussion should include Huber at Ursuline and Grimes at Springboro. Both of these Liberos are two of the top players in the State
