Toledo Area Rankings after the Holiday Break. Per Max Preps

The records I have currently listed are what Max Preps ranked them by as of 12/28/23. I realize some of them have 1 or 2 more games played, but these are the records used by MP as of 12/28/23. I will not be updating the records until the new rankings come out.
* Not sure why Notre Dame Academy doesn't have a D1 ranking yet.

I don’t believe that the current MaxPreps rankings are using the same formula for the MaxPreps rankings that the OHSAA will be using.

It’s 40% your teams winning percentage, 35% your opponents winning percentage and 25% opponents opponents winning percentage.

You are correct the current one on the site is not exactly what I listed above, but it should be very close.


The official one supposedly will be released on 1-10-24.

1st official RPI ranking is out today. Since I posted this for D1 the only difference in the top 7 D1 Northwest District is Perrysburg is 6th instead of 4th.
Obviously this will all fluctuate.

St. Ursula with Wiczynski, Reichert, and DeFoe are really ahead of only Waite. What a shame. I didn’t think Terry did a great job there last year, but he was way better than this. Sad..

It’s going to be really hard to attract a coach to St. Ursula. Not sure they will be able to get a person in there that has good options. It’s down pretty bad and would take an immense amount of work to get it off the ground.
 
Last game is 2/3/24. Most teams have 4-6 games that will not count! That is one of the biggest gripes of area coaches.

District Notes- No Changes in the top 10 since I put out MP original rankings on 12/23.
Northview @ Perrysburg and vs. Findlay will have big implications on the top 5 spots.
Perrysburg has Northview and Central Catholic both wins could jump them as high as 2. Both losses could drop them to 5.

Division Notes- Bellevue beat Norwalk but is not rewarded for their brutal schedule. Norwalk still has Gibsonburg to go. If Norwalk wins that they will most likely hold off Bellevue. If they lose, Bellevue should jump them.
Central Catholic is obviously a wild card here. With their brutal schedule they could pick 7th or 8th. It will be very scary to have them pick after your school.

District Notes- Big Genoa v Oak Harbor game has been rescheduled for after 2/1 so it WILL NOT COUNT towards seeding
2 and 3 seed will most likely be determined by the Fairview vs Miller City game. If Fairview wins that they should hold on.
Tinora has a tough Ayersville matchup while Genoa has Toledo Christian looming in wait. Northwood and Eastwood should hold serve for awhile and make late pushes. Eastwood will get 20 games in that count (2 more than any other team)
