Tim McCarver passes

Tim McCarver passed away today. I grew up a Pirate fan but for some reason always liked Tim as a player with the Cards. Also liked his insight as a baseball analyst although he lost a little of his game in later years.

I mostly enjoyed his game analysis and enthusiasm as a broadcaster. RIP Tim.

Tim is one of those voices from growing up that I’ll always remember, along with John Madden, Pat Summerall, Jack Buck, Dick Enberg, Billy Packer, Ken Venturi and others who are no longer with us.

(And some who are still with us, like Brent Musburger, Dlck Vitale, Al Michaels, etc.)
