Tiffin Regional Course

For those of you who are running at the Tiffin regional on Saturday please warn your runners that the course is very beat up due to the city doing construction in the park. There is even an open trench two feet off the course just past the one mile mark. It seems to me that Tiffin is living off the reputation that they created from the carnival in the 80’s and 90’s and have truly stopped caring about the athletes. Attached is a picture of said trench.

Going to be honest. Someone took the time to line the course so someone cares. It does not look dangerous from the picture. Should they have moved the race to another venue until the construction is done?

Somebody doesn’t like Tiffin. 😁 I thought it was a fun course. I too am curious to hear a better location.

You are right. I am not a fan of the Tiffin course. While I do like the fact that it is not a track on grass overall the past few years when coaches have expressed concerns with the course, the administration has ignored these concerns, replied rudely to, or even had intentions questioned. A few coaches were at the course on Wednesday and the course was rutted up from excavators driving on the course. This trench while not large is a broken ankle waiting to happen a mere 6-12" off the course. (As why all know that cross is not a contact sport but at times contact happens) Seneca East hosts 2 meets each year that are just as big or bigger than this regional meet in terms of athletes participating.

I have heard Seneca East wants to host the regional, but Tiffin's stronghold has prevented that.

OFF THE COURSE is a key point. If they are running off the course they should be DQ'd. Regardless it is cross-country. All of the kids run the same course.
