If I took a line and spilt the U.S. in 1/2 horizontally, Which half would you say the National Champion will come from. The North or the South?

North = Oregon, Boise St., Notre Dame, Indiana, OSU, PSU
South = Arizona St, SMU, Texas, Clemson, Tennessee, Georgia

NORTH OR SOUTH???

Intersting..Id take the North.

I really do like the question. And it actually got me thinking how it would look if they bracketed them 6 North and 6 South. They would seed the 6 North in a bracket, and seed the 6 South in a bracket. I find that very interesting. Now I'm sure some will say you will get rematches. That's ok. I think it would be cool to see that playoff 12 team bracket better than the current 12 team bracket.

Definitely start another civil war....lol

Most years I would take the South without much thought, but with Notre Dame, Oregon and even Ohio State with a chance to take home the crown, this year I’ll lean toward the North, given the blemishes Texas and UGA have shown.

Now that Indiana has been exposed like most knew they would, I realize that this 12 team thing really blows. Teams undeserving are in. The seedings are pathetic. Byes suck. But the best part: only 1 team gets the Trophy. Everyone else gets a participation ribbon for their ribbon case. So osu and their fans can add a participation ribbon to their ribbon case. LOL!!!

the more you post the more I’m convinced you don’t like college football. Do you hate March Madness too?

I am not of fan of teams getting in that knowledgeable people know are not better than teams being left out. I'm not a fan of Boise St. getting the 3 seed and Arizona St. getting the 4 seed. That is a joke. There are so many teams in the country that are better than Indiana, who beat no one. better than SMU. Better than Clemson. And yes, March Madness is a cash grab. Way too many get in. It's all about the money. Give me the final 8/final 4, anything before that, not much interest.

9 champions have been ranked outside the top 8 teams since 1985. That’s 28% of the winners. Including your beloved Michigan. Using your logic, they shouldn’t have a basketball championship in 1989.

Just like Michigan wouldn’t have a football title without transfers, despite you saying you don’t like the portal. Do you ever get tired of stepping on the proverbial rake?

Juan look at.this SMU shitshow. Their qb isn't ready for this type of stage.

We all know it's about rhe money so it'll never go back...but 8 team playoff shoulda been the max

I have said that since they up it from 4. 12 is a joke for MANY reasons.

Put every conference champion in a playoff. Clean and easy. Makes conference championships matter again. No one can complain if you don't win on the field (although many will still try)

This won't happen but it should

Why does it work in the other divisions then. Never complaining about more CFB elimination games. NEVER. And march madness is iconic gold
It's just different ways at looking at something. I prefer an 8 team, no byes, top 8 regardless of conferences, no automatic bids for winning weak conferences. The more teams, the more watered down it is. Kind of like Ohio HS football. Some like 16 per region. Others don't. There is no right or wrong, it is what people prefer.

No thanks to that. The SEC number 5 team can be better than certain conference champions. And in many years past, The Georgia/Bama loser would wipe the field with almost every other conference champion. That would be terrible (IMHO). I want the best 4 or 8. So Boise St. is seeded 3rd and Arizona St. is seeded 4th. And everyone knows they are NOT the 3rd and 4th best teams in the country. But they won their conferences. It is a joke.

Abolish conferences altogether.
Or at least conference Championship games. That way winning that 1 game does not guarantee you are in the playoffs. Example: Clemson wins the ACC , so the ACC some how gets Clemson and SMU. And again, we all know that if they were in the SEC, they wouldn't even be in the playoff conversation.

Loser is the only word in your post that matters.

Losers can watch the playoff at home on TV
