Yes, my only balk at today's lineup is Marte is arguably our hottest hitter. But hey, we don't ever try to think along with them.If you’re willing to put CES at 3B, then put Marte at SS and let Elly sit. Marte is 8 for his last 16 and has an OPS around .960 in September.
Elly’s September OPS is .501 and he’s been making too many errors.
I thought attendance didn’t matter?A couple of Reds sidebars trending the last several hours...
Attendance - There was approximately 15,000 who showed up on a Monday night. A great crowd for a weekend game is anything around 30,000. Some say this is bad because the team is contending, it's could be Joey's last ride in town, etc. Here's my stance, just because your butt is in a seat at GABP does not make you a supporter or not. We've seen countless times of people who are at the ballpark and have no idea what baseball even is, it's just a place for them to go. I consider myself a big supporter of the team, and I may be in attendance less than 5 games a season. Rare is it that for a game I'm not either watching on TV, listening on the radio or a combo of both. We've debated on here countless times the whys and wherefores of attendance. School is in session, even at 6:40pm, younger school kids will not be brought to games. Also, most kids families who are sports oriented, pick the sport, soccer, football, volleyball, there is an endless supply of youth sports that I feel largely cut out a big part of a weekday fanbase.
Votto - Some are drawing a conclusion that this could be Joey's last homestand, either as a Red or possibly ever as a player. I thought Joey had a great answer last night when asked. The fact that there has been no mention of this being it for him tells me that there is still a chance he comes back next season. I have a hard time believing he'll play for another organization, so either they work something out next year or he retires. I feel even in retirement he'll be part of the organization in some way.
It doesn't but some media people crap on fans who don't clear their schedues and run down to the ballpark 4 times a week. Must have worked though, 24,000 tonight. That's a heck of a Tuesday night crowd, especially vs. the Twins who proably had little to do with it.I thought attendance didn’t matter?
Nah, they're just breathin' heavy.....Padres are coming fast, but not enough games left.

Even if the Padres win out that only gets them to 84 wins. Unlikely that is enough to get in.Padres are coming fast, but not enough games left.
Do they still call them DJs? I mean, there aren’t any discs in radio anymore
Why would anyone give a damn about a DJ on the radio complaining about attendance?
I can't fathom how weak minded you would have to be to allow a DJ to shame you into going to a game just to boost attendance for a billionaires franchise.
It's talk radio, need to talk about something....Do they still call them DJs? I mean, there aren’t any discs in radio anymore
Exactly....the Reds are playing with house money. Would be great to get into the playoffs but it's been a fantastic season. The tough part to swallow is that the Reds were in first place Aug 1 and the Brewers killed it from there.Even if the Reds don’t make it to the playoffs, what a fun year it has been! The amazing amount of young players the Reds have gained invaluable experience of a playoff push and what it takes to get there that will only help them in the future. The Reds should be primed for the next 4-5 years to be really competitive.
The Brewers have a solid starting rotation, the Reds were decimated by injuries to their starters, simple as thatExactly....the Reds are playing with house money. One starter healthy and three rookies will do thatReds went 10-17 in August.
It really didn't have anything to do with the Brewers. The Reds simply collapsed.
It was little more than the Brewers killing it. The front office was apathetic about making the playoffs at the trade deadline and other teams weren't.Exactly....the Reds are playing with house money. Don't worry, Fairchild is in now.The Reds cannot possibly blow this legendary Greene performance...
