The Cincinnati Cyclones...

This is the first year I've really followed the Cyclones so I can't really tell you anything, I'm still learning all of the Cyclones players.

last year was my first year...it was kinda sad this year because I really got to appreciate three or four of the players...but the nature of minor league sports is that they were young guys and all moved on to the AHL affiliate in Hamilton, ONT. I find it telling that those four guys were all property of the Canadiens...do the Predators have any of their young talent in Cincy?

in any event...here is a bit of a preview fromt he ECHL website about the series...and it answers my question.

Honor&Glory, Do you still follow those guys? If so do you know how they are doing in the AHL?

all four played for Hamilton this past season and all four appeared to do well except Beauregard who looked like he may have been injured for most of the season.
Desharnais played briefly with the Canadiens in the pre-season but didn't make the final roster...registered 58 points for the Bulldogs this season.

With all this talk about moving the Phoenix Coyotes to Hamilton, what would happen to the Bulldogs? I imagine they would move somewhere else in the Ontario area.

The Cyclones have really helped me get into hockey. Last year's Championship game was amazing, it was probably my 2nd or 3rd Clones game. I've only been to 1 this year, but since then I've been getting more and more interested in hockey, watching the playoffs every night on Versus. Can't wait 'till they come back next Wednesday. Might have to make the Friday or Saturday game too

Cyclones lost game 2, 3-1...

They never seem to play up to par for a couple of games after being off more then four days, this was evident against Wheeling in the first round...

These home games will be crucial if they want to win the series obviously or else they will be swept on there home ice...

'Clones lost 4-3 tonight. Exciting game though. They were trailing 1-0 after the 1st when the Rays scored 3 goals relatively early on in the 2nd. The 'Clones came back with 2 goals late in the period, and scored early in the 3rd to bring it within 1. They just couldn't pull it out though. It will be tough to come back from 3-0, but it's not impossible.

'Clones lose again 3-2 to complete the sweep for SC. The Cyclones scored two goals early in the 1st and controlled the game for the rest of the period. They had way more big hits and you could tell they really wanted to win. They scored off a power play and again right as another PP had ended.

Second period was controlled completely by the Stingrays. All of the Cyclones energy was gone and they kept giving up stupid penalties. They gave up a shorthanded goal midway through the period and SC scored again later on.

Third period was better but with 3 minutes remaining Nie the goalie tried to clear it out from behind goal but one of the defenders gave the puck away to SC and they scored while Nie was still behind the goal. That pretty much sealed the game. The 'Clones had a few good choices in the final minute but never scored.

It was a crappy series to end the season but it was still another impressive year for the 'Clones. I should be going to many more games next year.
