Teays Valley Girls took control early, going on a 13-point run to take the lead. They extended their advantage to 31-16 by halftime, thanks to a 16-6 second-quarter performance. The Vikings continued to pull away in the second half, outscoring Groveport 27-12.

Auzure Hampton led Groveport-Madison with 10 points and 4 rebounds. Aubriona Benjamin added 6 points and 3 rebounds, while Tatyana Bailey chipped in 4 points and 5 rebounds. Angelica Brock contributed 3 points and 3 rebounds, and Skyiah Johnson also scored 3 points. Rounding out the scoring was Aurri Benjamin with 2 points and 2 rebounds.

Coach Trevor Younkin praised his team's effort, saying, "I thought as a team, we played very well together and we were there for each other. We made the extra pass. We made the right extra pass. We took care of the ball better than we have. We gave ourselves some cushion and allowed that cushion to grow into taking control of the game. There have been times when we’ve had opportunities to get some cushion, but we really got it tonight. Overall excellent team performance. I was proud of the effort of the entire team."

Younkin also commended senior Kylie Burgett, who scored five points, including a crucial three-pointer. "Kylie is our lone senior. She is a phenomenal teammate; Kylie brings energy every day to practice. She doesn’t complain. She doesn’t show bad body language. She’s very coachable. She leads a team vocally and I couldn’t ask for a better senior. She knows her role. She steps up every day, no matter how good, bad, or ugly and gives everything she can to the team and for her to hit a three and hit a mid-range jumper, it was electrifying, and the whole team was just ecstatic. She gives her heart every day and sees them support her. I couldn’t ask for a better team and it means a lot to me and I’m proud of her and I’m proud of what we’re doing."

Younkin also praised Cami Robins, saying, "We have a lot of girls that can bring something to the table but to be able to play point guard and get opportunities to shoot like she does and to capitalize like she did tonight is phenomenal; she’s definitely one of the top girls in the OCC Buckeye division. You know she’s a competitor; she doesn’t let her emotions bother her. She fights through it. She’s ready to go any day, and with the potential with Cami, it is just unbelievable, in my opinion, to be a sophomore and do what she’s doing now. I can’t wait to see what she does next year."

The Vikings (6-12, 5-6) return home to face Canal Winchester (6-11, 4-6) on Tuesday. The Indians fell to Newark, 60-37, on Friday.
