I am not basing this off of just Softball just so happens to be in this forum. Three Rivers is a growing district and may not be ready right now but could they be looking to the future?
Could in the future. BUT the other sports are "one in a decade" that have competed for a top spot in the CHL.
D2-D3 in most sports where does that fit them in with other leagues?
even the SWOC (prior to Ross/Edgewood leaving) most of those schools were D1-D2 in everything?
#'s in youth basketball , baseball football are REALLY good the past few years. we have more participating at the youth levels than ever before
I live in one of the 5 "major" subdivisions in our district and can drive down any of the streets and see MULTIPLE Lasalle and Elder yard signs.
MOST of those elder/lasalle/X kids were already attending private MS anyway. but my son is a freshmen and I know of more than a hand full that were Taylor MS and ended up attending Private (one of which started a Varsity Sport at Moeller as a freshmen)
(i am our youth baseball coordinator) and we have seen 10-15% growth in the past 5 years with rec baseball alone!
So the potential is there for sure, BUT #'s don't always translate to being able to compete.
Just for refence here are Taylors CHL championship #'s in each sport (past 10 years)
Football - 0
Girls Vball - 1
Boys Soccer - 0
Girls Soccer - 1
B and G cross country - 0
B and G golf - 0
Tennis - 0
Boys Basketball - 1
Girls basketball - 1
wrestling - 0
B and G swimming - 0
Boys Bowling - 1
Girls Bowling - 2
Baseball - 4
Softball - 7
Boys Track - 3
Girls Track- 2
We are the only school in CHL that offers boys Volleyball (so we get a gold star lol)
Taylor doesn't offer lacrosse
So its evident that Spring sports compete in the CHL but the Fall/Winter sports are def behind.
