Welcome to the 16th Annual SWO King of the Spread basketball pick'em contest!
Here's a link to the SWO KOS basketball history: https://yappi.com/forum/index.php?threads/swo-king-of-the-spread-pickem.347038/
So here we go ....
How the point totals work:
+1 point per correct pick.
(-1.0) point per incorrect pick
+1 point for hitting the tie-breaker (choosing the correct team and tie-breaker point)
+2 points for being the weekly contest winner.
+1 bonus point for participating that week.
There will be 10 regular season contests (one contest per week). There will be a Regular Season Total Points Championship for those 10 games. Everyone who participated during the regular season will be eligible to participate during playoff time. During the playoffs there will also be a Playoff Total Points Championship, which will last the entire playoffs.
After the final playoff game, the participant with the highest total points when adding their regular season total points with their playoff total points, will become the 2025 SWO KOS Basketball Champion! If there’s a tie between participants, then a tie-breaker game will decide the tie.
Below, I have an example of how to make your picks. On the heading column, it shows "Pick" on the far left. This is the column you would place your pick.
If your choice is the favorite Kings, then you would put the number 1 in that position:
Pick, Favorite(1), Points, Underdog(2)
_1___-KINGS 4.5 La Salle
If you decide to choose the underdog La Salle, then you would put the number 2 in that position:
Pick, Favorite(1), Points, Underdog(2)
__2__-KINGS 4.5 La Salle
There are 20 games posted below, plus a tie-breaker game. In the tie-breaker game, you put down which team you think will win the tie-breaker game, and by how many points they will win.
Also, just in case participants put down the exact same tie-breaker, I added a second tie-breaker to decide it. This is by putting down how many total combined points you think will be scored in the tie-breaker game. If the second tie-breaker is also exactly the same for those participants, then the participant who has the earliest posting time for their picks will win the tie-breaker.
Just in case the primary tie-breaker game happens to get cancelled, I added an alternate tie-breaker game to take it's place. So please make sure to put your choice down on the alternate tie-breaker game too.
Once you've posted your picks, you are allowed to edit them. Just make sure that your edit time doesn't go past the deadline time. Your edit time will be considered your posting time (in case it's needed for a tie-breaker).
The home team is listed in all capital letters. Best of luck to everyone!
