Back to the game:

Was the Chiefs focus on stopping Barkley part of their downfall? Seemed they contained him really well but the rest of the team feasted on what looked like a very weak defense.
Eagles defense got pressure with 4, which allowed them to blanket the field with 7. I'm not doubting Mahomes' ability as a QB, the guy has won 3 of them. What I do wonder is if he is that cerebral QB that can make changes at the LOS and audible to a more effective play. I listened to Brady talk on a podcast about when they beat the Chiefs, and he said he knew their defense maybe better than they did because of how much he studied them.

I'm not sure if Mahomes studies film the same way a Manning or Brees or Brady would. Maybe he thinks he can rely upon his legs when a play doesnt work out, instead of thinking how to audible out of a bad one. That might be something that he'll have to learn to do later in his career when his legs arent so fast. I didn't really see him do that too much, it was pretty much snap the ball, if nobody is immediately open, then run around. Grant you his OL did a poor job, but the one value about being a QB is you can change protections, add hot routes and check out of a pass to run and vice/versa.

I would agree if the Eagles got pressure by blitzing … but the Eagles sat in their base defense almost the entire game … teams don’t tend to audible against base defense … to me their biggest mistake was abandoning the run almost completely … Eagles didn’t even have to think about stopping the run … they just rushed straight to the QB … their DL just kicked the OL’s butt … not a type of protection problem.
