Summit County Football- 2025

Stow-Munroe Falls 2025 Preview

Top Returning Breakfast Joints:
Tip Top, Stownut Donut, Dunkin, Garretts Mill Diner
Top Returning Lunch Joints: Swensons, Old Carolina BBQ (2 Way restaurant - Lunch and Dinner), Panera Bread
Top Return Mexican Places: El Camp, Pancho and Leftys, Casa Nueva Tacos, Spicy Sombrero, Taco Bell
Top Returning Bars: Wing Warehouse, The Basement, Stowaway Pub, Cellar 59 Wine Bar for the classy folk.

Rumored Transfers: Wayback Burger and Chick-Fil-A --- Look for these two rumored transfers to see see the playing field immediately and make a HUGE impact on both sides of the menu (Lunch and Dinner). Chick-Fil-A can make an impact with all three aspects of the game (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner). The biggest drawback from adding Chick-Fil-A to the field is that you can only count on 6 good days of work, they will always be closed on Sundays.

Sweet Treats: Handles, Sweet Frog, Nothing Bundt Cakes, DQ, Stow Cone

Overall, Stow looks to add to the foundation of previous years success. Look for the transfers to make a huge impact if they can get them in game shape by the Fall. Competition in surrounding areas will always make it tough when there are places like Hudson with the "Square" nearby and downtown Kent offering a diverse menu and excellent food choices.
Looks like it's going to be a tough year.

Very curious, does anyone know if any of these kids are Akron kids?

With the demise of the old city series and decline in enrollment all around Akron I wonder if some of these are city kids or are these kids mostly from the suburbs?
I know Elbert Hill is from Maple Heights

You went 4/4 on top returning bars that's for sure. I also really like Casa nueva

Suburbs I would imagine and beyond. Similar to most privates they draw from outside of their local community.

Anyone want to share a preseason top 5 or top 10 for Summit County?

I think Hoban, Walsh and Hudson have to be the top 3, but after that it's a bit of a mystery. Is CVCA strong enough to break the top 5?

How is the City Series looking this season?

Buchtel has always been solid. But I think it might be closer than in years past.

Akron East won the league, but Firestone beat both Akron East and Buchtel. BUT, I wonder how things are gonna go since the coach retired and the guy they brought in was not approved.

Akron Garfield lost to East and Buchtel by one possession, so it looks like they're getting better. Ellet struggled this past year, but they have a new coaching staff and are looking to improve. Can North continue to improve?

Wait, what happened at Firestone?

I could see Buchtel beat Firestone pay back and probably beat Garfield and East going to be a toss up

It's May 19th and the head coaching job is posted. They don't currently have a coaching staff

Outstanding breadth. Depth looks good on paper, but come game time, only a few truly deliver. Handels and Swenson's are the headliners, but nothing that unique. Spicy Sombrero is a bit of a sleeper here.

Totally forgot them. I would put them 6th and move everyone else down one spot.
Yeah - I pretty much agree with how you have them ranked. But honestly, after Hoban and Walsh, it is a crap shoot. I agree with you that putting CVCA in and dropping Revere out is the right call. Revere was very mediocre last year and that was with a multi year starter at QB. He was just OK, but he still had a ton of experience. Breaking in a new QB is never an easy task.
