Suburban league 2022

Some players to look out for from Barberton:

Roosevelt Andrews(DE, RB)
Kenny Larry(WR, CB)
Corey Gibson(LB)
Xavier Macon(RB)
DuJuan Owens(CB)
Drew Terry(DT)
Josef Burgan(LB)
Jaekell Springer(OL)
Brayden Stefan(OL)
Keyshawn Grant(LB)
Who is keyshawn Grant or josef burgan they play last year

Those early 90's basketball games between Falls and Barberton were something to behold..

As for the current state of affairs. Falls will finish last in the SL American and I would be surprised if they stay within 20 points in any league game this year
Yeah, back in the day most all of those Metro league games were great and it was such a great league in all sports to follow.

Freecrisis do you hear this about barbertown? Heard who is new OC. A guy named Bob Wylie? Who the heck is theat? Another new staffe guy is Bob Probushka? Once again who the crap is that!

Collin Dixon is tearing up football recruiting scene as senior season at Tallmadge looms

If things play out like they usually do on the college football recruiting scene, Collin Dixon could be the biggest thing in the Greater Akron area the next six months.

That’s not hyperbole as the 6-foot-2, 205-pound junior prepares for his final fall season at Tallmadge High School.

“He has all the measurables,” Blue Devils coach Mike Hay said. “He’s got the height, weight and speed. All that stuff, but what makes him special is his coachability and his leadership.

Have to think that this will be Talmadge's year. They've got one of the best WRs in the state along with a 4-year starter at QB.
A lot of Tallmadge hype. The reality is they got beat by Highland 49-7, steam-rolled by Aurora, and bounced in the first round of the playoffs. Highland has to be considered the favorite next season, they return a lot and were head and shoulders above the Blue Devils. Wins against Ellet, Coventry, Cuyahoga Falls, Revere, Kent Roosevelt, Copley, Ravenna. In reality they beat absolutely nobody. They will need to be greatly improved to win the Suburban and make noise in the playoffs.

My thumb tells me Aurora, Barberton, Medina Highland, Tallmadge, Kent, Cuyahoga Falls then Copley for this year.

Reminds me a little of some of the discussion between the 2003 and 2004 seasons:

2003: Highland 40, Tallmadge 7
2004: Tallmadge 49, Highland 14 (and Tallmadge kneeled on the 1 yard line to run out the clock)

Not saying that Tallmadge will turn around the score by that much but I do expect them to be very competitive with Highland, Aurora, and Barberton. Tallmadge lost a small group of quality Seniors but every position they lost, they had underclassmen that got alot of time. Finding a couple solid running backs midway through last season also helped make the team better. Not game breakers but excellent compliments to the passing attack.

If Aurora can at least threaten in the passing game, they should be able to pound the ball on offense. They will feature a RB and a FB that both are 215 to 220lbs and a really good running QB.

Interesting matchups. Aurora and Barberton look to pound the ball while Tallmadge will be chucking it all game. Not sure which way Highland will go

Collin Dixon - SR next season
Ameer Yasin - SO next season

both were offered by Kentucky yesterday. Amazing that Tallmadge has two DI FBS scholarship players on the same team when they went 40 years with only two players receiving DI FBS offers (Jamel Miller and Joe Lowery).
