St. Edward 2024-25

Well Boro has Schork at 106, if that’s the case, that will be far from a weak spot. And he has Peterson/Eaton at 165, either of those would be really good there too obviously. Guess we’ll just have to see how the lineup actually works out. But personally I’d be stunned if MP came even relatively close to St Ed’s this year.
Schork isnt making 106 and Peterson is going 215. I believe MP lost by 7 points last year and Ed’s lost more wrestlers.

165...Eaton is a weak spot? He's capable of winning it all.
138....there's at least a state qualifier or a potential state champ there..how is that a weak weight?
106....you have Schork. That's weak?
Schork isn’t going 106. Eaton might not wrestle. Jacob Kiehl is no where near state placement.

Didn't say Kiehl. They have others who are state placement able at 138. If Eaton doesn't wrestle then they have others who are state placement able as well. Guess we will see if Schork can make 106.

Well that’s where the difference is, you seem to be sure what the lineup is or isn’t, me personally I have no idea. Hard to say how close MP is to St Ed’s when we don’t know the lineups. But an ideal Ed’s lineup is something nobody is touching in the state of Ohio. Perrysburg can compete with the first half of the lineup, but they don’t have the horses on the back end.

MP lost by 7 points? Am I going crazy or was the state tournament scores not 226.5 for Ed’s and 132.5 for Massillon Perry?

106- Schork
113- Whitely
120- Timar
126- Brown
132- Mazur

165-Eaton
175- T. Miller

Who knows if some of the weights are even ideal but would be the strongest lineup top to bottom for Eds if they can manage it.

215 and HVY are a pretty big stretch for Peterson and Waugh in my opinion.

Peterson I am just basing on multiple reports on here, you could be spot on. I know he is serious about football so maybe hes really bulked up.

Waugh- He went 0-2 at State as a SOPH. 2 1-point loses (including Alex Taylor) so he would fill 215 just fine this year- Is he too small for HVY? Who knows, but need someone to slide in if Gregory does in fact sit out the wrestling season.

Guessing he's referring to the State Duals. It was was a 9 point differential w/ several close matches....

Gonna do the dual projection Eds vs. MP solely based off @Boro Fan rankings. Why not.

106: Eds Pin 6-0
113: Eds dec. 9-0
120: Eds dec. 12-0
126: Eds maj 16-0
132: Eds dec 19-0
138: MP dec 19-3
144: MP dec 19-6

165: MP dec 22-15
175: Eds maj 26-15
190: Eds pin 32-15
215: Eds dec 35-15
HVY: MP pin 35-21

Could be very interesting if Plotts beats Manns and Warwick beats Goldberg. 2 toss ups that I favor Eds.

I agree. I believe Seibert and Timar will always be a close one. I do not think Brown will major Rohr.

I truly believe that plotts and warwick both win their matches considering plotts recent result at IHPO, kid seems to have been working hard this offseason and I am very interested to see how he performs come gametime. Warwick just placed at Fargo and is looking like he's been working hard as well. nobody at 165 is going to come anywhere close to johnson, even if Eaton wrestles it (best case scenario for eds) he lost to Geckler twice last year and I can't imagine that he will be able to hang with Johnson. Siebert has been looking amazing with being a Fargo finalist and was one move away from winning it all. Rohr beat brown his freshman year in the dual, and if I remember correctly was winning last year before he got caught. Flat out, nobody from eds is beating lincoln at 113 even if mazer drops down, I don't have him in a rematch. This dual is going to go down as one of the greats in ohio history and we are all going to be in for a treat.

Not that my opinion matters cause we're not beating either team in a straight-up dual.
But I have MP winning 7 weights 132,138, 144, 150, 165, 215, HWY
Ed's winning 4 weights 106, 126, 175, 190
3 Toss ups 113, 120, 157 I think MP is 1-3 in the toss-up matches
MP 8 matches to Ed's 6
MP 35 - Ed's 31

This will be the best dual in Ohio this year!

It looks good every year but Ed’s always find a way to win. The evil empire just finds a way to march on. I think Manns is very capable of beat plotts since he such a tuff guy to wrestle. I think that Butler should beat Sanderfer just by looking at his state placements and strength of schedule. Millers should both win and Jarrel easily with bonus points too. And Ed’s should win 215 with Peterson. If Perry wrestles perfect they have a chance to win but we have this conversation every and we all know the result.
