"Specialness" of Final 4 now gone...

I mean for Devils Advocate, Pennsylvania only plays state Title games for years in Hershey or Penn State while they have West and East title games which are State Semis game at a truly neutral site in between the two schools. But then again every game in state Tournament is at neutral site halfway between the two schools. When they moved the Philly Catholic schools into main tourney they would have games 3 hours into middle of state on school nights even. So I guess all things considered it could be worse in Ohio

I went to a girls semifinal yesterday. They are the first team from their school to make it to the state finals.

They all agreed that the "specialness" was lacking and that it was hardly worth all the effort they have put in over the years. The high school gym they played in was 90% full and the parents all agreed that they would have preferred to drive twice as far, park farther away, and watch the game in a nearly empty Ohio State arena.

Everyone is disappointed and may not even bother to go to the state finals. Even the players.

I think it would be best to host the games in four different college arenas (don't have to be large colleges). With three time slots on Saturday and one on Friday night. This would give 16 available time slots.
