Singer performs U.S. national anthem in Spanish at Dodger Stadium

Go Buckeyes
Singer and social media personality Nezza performed the national anthem in Spanish at Dodger Stadium on Saturday night, despite being told beforehand she was expected to sing it in English.

“So we are going to do it in English today. I’m not sure if that was relayed,” an official can be heard saying in a video Nezza posted on social media. Instead, she chose to sing the Star-Spangled Banner in Spanish — a version originally commissioned in 1945.

At a minimum it’s disrespectful. You were brought in to perform, you chose instead to not do what is expected. They should have turned off her microphone.

Yay 1st-Amendment protected peaceful protest!

What? Like it was an option at some point? Or known that this stunt was possible? Wouldn't everyone just assume it would be in English?

Protest often is disrespectful. And she acknowledged it.
“I just felt like I needed to do it. Para mi gente,” she said. “Safe to say I’m never allowed in that stadium ever again.”

Going to a Dodgers game is a real treat. You not only see baseball but in the stands you see base brawl. Last year when I visited my son we went to a game and he was joking that whenever you go to a game at Dodger Stadium you almost always see a fight. Sure enough a brawl broke out right behind us in the 9th inning.

Disgraceful. It's the American national anthem, sing it in English. I saw some fool compare it to when a Canadian team comes in and they do the Canadian anthem.

Great except the Dodgers weren't playing a team from Mexico and they wouldn't do the American anthem in French.

Just another useful sweetie using the anthem for protest and making it all about them.

Old white man is mad the national anthem was sung in Spanish in a city where 49% of the city's population is Latino

Do you need a tissue?

Wow, this contributed nothing.

It's really simple, as America becomes ever more ethnically, racially and religiously diverse we must seek out certain unifying measures to ensue the sense of common citizenship essential to the survival of a republic. The easiest and most logical commonality would be language. English should be made the formal, exclusive legal language of the United States.

This little stunt was just another progressive left attempt to undermine the United States. It is an open question if America can survive as a single country in light of the extreme diversity we're seeing. It would be almost certain that this nation would dissolve if it became bilingual with English & Spanish. And why stop at bilingual? We could add even more languages.
