Kemper and Anderson now have UD as well, Reilly from MSJ, and CB Manny Keeling from Hanover. Nolan has an offer from Lawrence Tech in Michigan.

Some guys have picked up some additional small college offers that already had them as well. Would not be surprised to see some bigger offers for Kellom, Kemper, McFarlin, and Nolan- depending on if he finds a true position. I really give it to him for being committed to finishing his career at X when he could be the starting QB at almost any other school in the city, and most in the state, and probably get at least some FCS or MAC level offers. Rohmiller should get some offers too, but not sure how many places offer kickers.

missed about 5 more but we get your drift....strong team with lots of exposure. Much different environment than '07; much easier for kids to get noticed(except for Covid era)

Max Bonner has committed to play LAX at Michigan.
McFarlin is having a great season, he is flashing speed I'm not sure if people knew he had. I expect him to get some MAC level offers soon.

Sophomore NT Ted Hammond recieved an offer from Temple University last week. Congrats to Ted!

Also congrats to Max Bonner on his commitment to Michigan!

Great to hear about Ted. I have a feeling he's going to have a boatload by this time next year.

Don't agree with much of this...lots of good talent out there.

Bomber early signers
L to R: Sam Buerkle (Fordham), Cam Collins (Air Force), Grant Lyons (Miami OH) and Brian Parker (Duke)
No Max Klare (Purdue??)

Man a lot of guys waiting until late period - aren't CK, Brogan, Kemper, Kirk and McFarlin all expected to sign D1?

This is the last offer/invite list for the other StX seniors (taken from the post at the top of this page)
As the dust settles following the early signing period, coaches will assess their needs and approach remaining players.
Brogan and Kirk are most likely to go D1

RB Chase Eary offer from Centre
QB Brogan McCaughey offers from Kent State, Penn, EKU, Toledo, Yale, Ohio, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Akron
S Eli Kirk offers from Cincinnati, Valparaiso, Findlay, Eastern Illinois
RB Charles Kellom offers from EKU, Lehigh, Dartmouth, Grand Valley State, Colgate
CB Alex Kemper offer from Valparaiso, Dayton
WR Terrell McFarlin offer from Valparaiso
OL Jack Renneker offer from Findlay
S Brennan Bareswilt offers from Capital, Centre
CB Josh Anderson offer from Centre, Dayton
Ath Ryan Nolan offer from Lawrence Tech (MI)
DB Manny Keeling offer from Hanover

At one point I thought there was talk of McCaughey getting offers from bigger D1 programs. I would imagine that if he hasn't received them by now they won't be coming. The transfer portal has definitely impacted the recruiting of high school players, especially from those players who are not a 4-5 star player. I think the Power 5 schools would rather go after a guy in the transfer portal rather than a high school player.

While I know that players (and parents) are often looking for offers from the flashy Power 5 programs I think there is a lot to be said for accepting an offer from a great academic school, where you may also see the field, rather than riding the bench at a Power 5 with average academics. While it may not feel as exciting ultimately it may have a bigger impact post college.

I am surprised that CK is not getting offers from bigger name schools as he is very good and quite impressive. He has offers from Lehigh, Grand Valley State, and Colgate etc. Why are some ACC schools not offering him? I remember that Fitzgerald played for NC State and he was a good running back at St.X too.

Agree on most of this. But the transfer portal can work for these guys too. Essentially it eliminates the JUCO concept. The idea of JUCO was you could play for two years, show off your skills at a higher level (and in some instances, solve some academic issues) and then transfer without sitting out a year. If I were Brogan or any of these other guys, my first thought would be chance for early playing time and second would be quality of institution. So if you come in and play and hit a homerun on the field your first few years, you may be able to choose a P5 that works for you. Of course, if you are at a great school already (academic-wise) you just increase your overall options...

Lack of top end speed is what I'm told

CK ran a 4.6 which just isn't going to get you power 5 offers

Brogan on the other hand is somewhat of a mystery. Besides having a really strong arm he is really fast, somewhere in the 4.5 range.

According to 247Sports Brogan is ranked 116. When you get below 60 there are very few power 5 QB's and when they do land in a Power 5 conference they are schools like Virginia. Ex Jets QB Chad Pennington's son is #66 and he is going to Marshall. #84 is going to UCLA and #98 to Virginia and 148 to Michigan but that is about it for Power 5 offers. I think the transfer portal hurts high school QBs more than it does any other position. I would rather take a kid who showed good results for a year or two at the college level who now wants to transfer, than a high school QB.

At this point colleges have determined that he is a MAC level QB, which is consistent with his 247 ranking. That is still very impressive as very few high school QB's get to play at that level.

He should take the Yale (or Penn, if he wants to go the Wharton business school route) offer, and be thrilled. He is not going to play pro football-- and if that is indisputably evident, I'd argue that the focus for any smart X player should be on the best possible school for academics. In fact, when you look at what "FitzMagic" has done over the last 15-20 years (and Pat McInally and Calvin Hill before him), I'd argue that going to the best possible school for academics could (and should) be the priority for any smart X player, EVEN IF the X player has (realistic) NFL aspirations.
