Who do we think wins the national side of the league? Blanchester, Bethel-Tate, Williamsburg? Could Fayetteville, East Clinton or CNE win it as well?

Also on the American side does anyone have a chance at knocking off Clinton-Massie? New Richmond and Western Brown have started off the year strong, and Wilmington hasn’t looked bad, but they’ve had 2 close losses as well. And while Batavia is steadily improving I think they are a few years away but can definitely make some noise and be competitive in league games, and Goshen has had a rough start.

Id say CM is still the team to beat. CM is in a stretch of playing very tough competition in the beginning part of their season. Once league starts Id expect them to get back on track.

CM non league schedule is always on the tougher side. They still have Harrison who is looking really good this year

SBC National division has to be one of the worst in the state over the last two decades. SBC in general is very weak most years. This coming from someone who coached in that league many years. Decent coaches, good kids, but compared to the rest of SW ohio the SBC is a tier below.

I can’t disagree with you, the SBAAC National isn’t strong at all, outside of league play those teams tend to struggle mightly against other opponents. The American division has had a few good teams but it’s been alot of below average outside of CM and the few years WB made decent runs. However, being from an SBAAC school myself I love keeping up with the conference and hearing discussions about it! But it’s definitely below other conferences.

I would love to hear whats happening at Blanchester and Goshen. Both seem way way down this year. Not many SBC posters on here outside of CM fans.

Honestly wb has the best shot at knocking off massie followed by wilmington. I can see wb beating massie in a high scoring game., but at the same time I van see them getting destroyed by massie. I think both worlds exist. We will find out what world we are in later in the season.. wb plays jackson friday and I believe that game will show us how good or how bad wb truly is.

This is as bad as the National Division has been in a LONG time. Outside of Williamsburg I don't see a decent football team. Blanchester losing to Madison by 24 was embarrassing. BT seems to have come back down from their run and EC, CNE and Fayetteville are really struggling right now.

Me too, Goshen knocked off CM in 2017 and honestly since that run they haven’t been the same. The SBAAC gets kind of thrown in the shadows since the GCL, GMC, ECC and GWOC are all top tier confernces in the area. Also Blanchester moved down to D6 and Goshen seems to be growing, think there’s a chance in the future that their rivalry is stopped due to size concern? But the rivalry is still competitive and Blanchester wins frequently.

WB is going to have to put some points up on Massie. But they have been looking good on offense. Wilmington is getting better, but their offense looks not to good. Jackson is a tough opponent, we will learn a lot about WB when they play them because Jackson is going to be their real first test. Also side note WB is pretty much a FAC member at this point too because they play 4-5 FAC opponents a year lol

Williamsburg looked good last year, until they had a disastrous loss to BT who got hot. Also Williamsburg didn’t play Batavia this year. I wonder why. But with how the National is looking, a lot of Williamsburg games will be over at halftime. I’m interested to see what’s going on at EC, they have been in the national since 2017 and they can’t seem to ever be competitive in it.

That is funny! I feel the same way. I wonder if something may be going on with wb to the fac. I have heard massie wants out of the sbaac and if that happens the sbaac will be wayyyy wayyy down. And look for wb to jump ship.. that is all speculation tho. And it kind feels like hillsboro may want to leave the fac... and I bet the sbaac would be where they head to. Just my thoughts..... But I have heard rumblings of hillsboro wanting out and courthouse wanting out of the fac.

It's ancient history now, but EC was in the SBAAC National Division previously from 2002 to 2011, before leaving the for the now defunct SCOL (South Central Ohio League). They never finished worse than 3rd and that was only once, finishing 2nd 4 times, and 1st place 5 times, including the last four in a row. They also qualified for the playoffs, back when that meant something, in 2002, 2004, 2005, 2008 and 2010. Since returning in 2017 it has definitely been a different story.

Yeah I remember them days... th McFadden kids was awesome. Ec was a tough out for anyone. Then they just fell off. Blanchester was the same way. If I'm not wrong blanchester still has a winning record over massie.

Some interesting scenarios for sure. I also have heard rumors of Massie wanting out and heading to the SWBL. If they and Western Brown were to leave then that would allow for Hillsboro and Courthouse to fill two spots in the American Division. If Hillsboro were to leave the FAC they may very well find McClain goes with them. I haven't heard anything about them wanting to leave, but they are from the same county and are linked in many ways. If all three were to come then possibly New Richmond is switched to the National? Just some food for thought...

If I'm not mistaken Blanchester stopped playing CM many years ago. Why have they started the series back up? With the current situation in the district it may be wise to stay put and even move to the smaller division in the near future.

I think WB might be considering a move. The National side of the league seems really stable, those teams (outside of EC and Fayetteville) are all pretty much on the same road and have long histories with each other, I think they all stay together. I could see the American side imploding. I think WB would look at a move to the FAC especially if CM and Wilmington rumors about the SWBL are true. The Hillsboro and WCH wanting out is interesting but I honestly see it. The FAC is pretty much all Jackson and Chilicothe in most sports, and if Wilmington and CM leave the SBAAC I think hillsboro wouldn’t think twice and jump ship. The FAC has been trying to expand for years, and I think WB is at the top of their list.

Interesting! Thanks for the insight! I never knew EC was in the SBAAC all those years ago. I hope they can get their program back on track, those kids deserve it. I’m glad they got left out of the FAC, the SBAAC national is a much better fit for them

I think if Massie goes to the SWBL then Wilmington is probably going with them. The 2 schools seem to have a great relationship and I don’t see them being broken up. I could see McClain going with Hillsboro, they have a long history as well. They also struggle to compete in the FAC, and in the SBAAC they would find competition to be more to their standard. I think that would leave the FAC on the verge of disbanding though, but that’s self inflicted after the whole SCOL thing. I think if those 3 schools did join New Richmond or McClain would go to the national. Another interesting idea I think the SBAAC could entertain (albeit, won’t happen) is to reach out to the remaining 3 SWOC schools in Mt. Healthy, Northwest and Harrison and see if they could make them members in football only, again this is a long long shot, but I think it would be cool and would strengthen the league a lot

That all makes good sense and could see it.. the fac would go after unioto, Waverly and wb. I would think... and most definitely if court house, hillsboro and greenfield go.. it would make a pretty competitive sbaac. And the fac would be way better with wb, Waverly and unioto.

I think that the same thing is happening in the fac, that happend in the scol. The schools was tired of massie pounding them constantly. They all traded massie for jackson. No way the other schools will compe8in football with jackson except Chillicothe and trace. And I have no idea what happend to Chillicothe they was always competitive. Then just fell off. And what I'm hearing is trace will be d1 by 2025. But who really knows. But it seems like a shift is comming between the two conferences. Atleast it looks that way.

The football, basketball and baseball programs at EC haven't recovered from joining the SCOL. The former AD didn't want to go to the SCOL but the community forced it and it has ruined all boys athletics at the school. I'm just not sure they ever get back to those days of winning league titles. They aren't even getting in the playoffs with 16 teams being in.

I wonder how long until Unioto is thrown out of the SVC. They are by far the largest school in that conference.

Austin Miller, Billy Blackburn. In the mid 2000's the Blan/EC game was the de facto National division championship game. I know the EC head coach took the Chaminade Julienne job (Szabo maybe?) and they went on a down turn after that. Same with Blan after Inabbnit left to go set the Goshen program back 10 years, the talent dried up in Blan. I can't believe they are D6 now. I know the current EC head coach Steven Olds is a great football mind and 100% Astro. I wish them the best!

I remember reading something a couple years back that before the fac was formed the 5 schools who came from the SCOL where trying to join the SVC and make 2 divisions with Unioto joining the bigger schools, but apparently Unioto didn’t want to do it

Piketon has just as many kids as unioto i think... but yeah it's gotta be comming soon. Unioto has kinda taken over. And I wonder if they are pulling kids from Chillicothe? Maybe that's what is happening with them why they all of a sudden fell face down.

Helms was the coach who left for CJ and Hodge tookover and won. He left when they went to the SCOL and they've had 3 coaches since then will little to no success.

I could see them definitely go after Waverly and Unioto, however, I could also see them Looking more north and trying to get Circleville and Logan elm as well

Back in the SCOL chilicothe gave CM a lot of scares and very close calls. Their games where always good. Sad to see them falling off, didn’t they lose to McClain last year? Never thought I’d see the day chlilicothe losses to McClain or Hillsboro

I know I heard a few years ago Little Miami was wanting in the sbaac. But was voted down because of the size of school. So I definitely don't see them adding Harrison.
