Flower Mound went up 10-0 early.

SLC comes back and and wins 34-25.

Next up for SLC is last years division 2 champions 7-3 Cedar Hill Longhorns.

By the way this year the Division 1 and Division 2 playoffs are about as equal as they have ever been. Of the top 10 ranked teams in TX, - 5 are in Div I and 5 are in Div II

Texas High School playoffs are finally here!

SLC had 582 yards of offense. Flower Mound had 291. Riley Dodge accounted for every SLC yard of offensive except 9 and all of SLC's scoring.

SLC played without their #1 running back, #1 WR and #1 offensive lineman and their #2 defensive player. Their #1 defensive player (LB Derek Tomlin) is not at full strength. Last night was his first full game back.

The reason the score was close was 1) field position and 2) special teams (not saying these things aren't important). Offensively and defensively the game was a blow out. Turnovers were even.

Only you could spin a nine point win by the 'ragons as a "Blow Out"

that is not what he said

he said OFFENSIVELY and DEFENSIVELY the game was a blow out but field position and special teams added to the closeness of the game

PS it was 35-24 not 34-25

Only you could totally misunderstand what I said. I suppose you just look for an excuse to take a shot.

As Consumerman pointed out, I said offensively and defensively it was a blowout. SLC had 582 yards. Flower Mound had 291. From that perspective it was a blowout. Special teams and field position made the score closer.

The #3 team (AP Poll) in Texas got beat today. Allen was 10-0. They lost to 5-5 Rowlett 37-32. The division 1 brackett just got easier. Allen, Permian and Trinity are/were the favorites in that brackett.

Haha how can anyone call a school Flower Mound. That's just priceless. I bet it was only so close because SLC was intimidated by the big bad boys of Flower Mound.

It's the name of the town . . . . Flower Mound, Texas.

Actually, it's a great place to live. Lots and lots of new construction. It's a suburb of Dallas. A few years ago, USAToday listed Flower Mound as the fastest growing city in the USA.

Just for the record 11<28.

Dragons finally got the lead 7 seconds before half and broke the four point lead with four minutes to go.

I apologize for making the statement that I would not be surprised if the Jaguars won. What was I thinking....

Flower Mound was closer to winning than SLC was to winning by 28.

Once SLC got the lead at the end of the first half, they did what great teams do, they held on to it.

They were ahead 21-17 at the half and expanded it to 28-17. FM scored to get it w/in four and SLC went on a time killing drive to get the lead back again.

While it was in doubt, they did what they needed to do to erase it. I doubt many SLC fans were trembling, but obviously not the blowout some may have been expecting.

I just meant the points.

It was 12 from a Flower Mound win and 17 from a 28-point SLC win.

I am counting all points, both big and little, the same.

I think a 28 point win was a very logical prediction. I'd predict the same thing if they played again.

Even without Tre Newton and Blake Cantu SLC had double the yards gained. SLC had over 580 yards of offense. Usually stats like that translate into a blowout on the scoreboard.

Did you read Riley's comment about how he was feeling when SLC got behind 10-0?

He wasn't worried. He wasn't concerned. He was MAD. From that point forward he personally blew Flower Mound away almost singlehandedly.

I don't recall seeing that, but it doesn't surprise me.

I mentioned on the other site, that that may be the most productive game yardage wise at least, ever. Certainly not in garbage time either. He is truly a great HS player.

From what I hear, Cantu/Newton could have gone. Hard to see what they could have done.

What happend to the dragons, in 2005 they were beating all the teams they played by 40+ until the last rounds of the playoffs and now their almost losing to flowermound and rockwall.

In 2005 SLC beat the teams in the last rounds of the playoffs by just as far as the teams in the early rounds. SLC only had one game that was truly close and that game was in the regular season. SLC was clearly the superior team in every playoff game.

The Rockwall game was on the road with four days rest. SLC had two turnovers deep in their own territory in the 1st quarter that gave Rockwall 2 TDs. After that, SLC destroyed them.

Against Flower Mound, SLC had over twice as many yards gained. SLC had four division one recruits sitting on the bench due to injury.

If SLC can survive long enough to get healthy, they should be co-favorite to win state along with Katy.
