Results Thread

I still consider Walsh to be a Top 5 team but even with one player missing I believe they still shouldve beaten Beavercreek. Although it depends on the player missing, does anybody know?

I had heard it was their opposite hitter (20?). They might have been missing others but I had heard only one player was not playing. I guess you'd have to check up on that.

Not exactly sure where Walsh has gone in everyone's rankings. Earlier people had them at 3 above Moeller and just behind Elder and X. Now they're barely top 10 in everyone's rankings. I think what many of you don't know is that when Walsh lost to beavercreek they didn't have their starting lineup. OHSBVA knows this and that's why they kept Walsh at #1. They have swept all competition in d2 and have only legimately lost to Elder in 5 and X in 3 (best of 3).

Those rankings are voted on by the coaches I believe. If that's the case, I doubt every coach who voted knew they were missing one rotation player out of their starting lineup. Regardless they are still top 5 for me.

This thread was discussing division I teams Centerville, Darby, Davidson, Big 3 in the context of their most recent results.

There is a thread that specifically addresses top ten in state regardless of division. Walsh had a bad loss. They deserve to drop

And so what if they were missing one player. Lots of teams have had players out at different times of the year. Unless it was their setter or number 1 outside, it's something you have to deal with and no excuse for losing.

Its a shame that there has to be a DI and DII in volleyball. Alter (among others) could make the DI playoff soooo much more exciting.

Alter would change things up in the West, giving Cville a contender, Hoban/Walsh would eliminate the Eds/Iggy domination in the North and DeSales/Vernon would eliminate the Darby/Davidson domination in the East.

Too bad they cant just combine the divisions

Wouldn't it be fun at the end of the year to have the D1 and D2 state champions play each other and have the d1 and d2 state runner-ups play

I think that would be an awesome idea but for now I would say let's focus on just getting more people in the stands for the state finals as a whole

Im interested to see what it's like after a great mid western showing in college volleyball, and it being in Columbus at a great venue

DeSales/Vernon would eliminate the Darby/Davidson domination in the East.

This year that would definitely be the case. That said, I would still say that Hilliard Darby has been the dominant program in Central Ohio over the last 10 years. With Darby's state championship, state runner-up, numerous Final Fours and overall domination in the OCC, I think it is kind of hard to argue otherwise. (There were no divisions prior to 2008.)

Beavercreek defeats Alter in 4. Disappointing loss for Alter after a great win last night. Can't have those drop offs if they expect to win the state.

Friday 5/15 Regular Season Match

Archbishop Moeller def. Centerville 25-20, 19-25, 25-12, 21-25, 15-13

So Centerville took Moeller and St X to 5, but lost in 3 to Elder. Elder just got smacked by St X and lost in 5 to Alter. Alter loses to Beavercreek after beating Elder. And Moeller beats Alter, loses to Fenwick in 5 and beats Centerville in 5. Head scratching last week and a half of the regular season.
