Tallmadge entered this softball season with high expecations as the reigning Division II state champion with six returning starters.

Tallmadge has had its memorable moments in 2024, including two wins apiece over Barberton, Copley, Cuyahoga Falls, Highland, Kent and Revere, and additional victories over Chardon, Keystone, Stow and Mogadore.

They had a great run last year. But, given the beatings they’ve taken this year, they don’t appear a state championship caliber team.

Alot of similarities between last season and this season to this point for Tallmadge. They hit their stride late in the season and made a great run last year. The major difference is the games against Aurora. Arguably, Aurora is the best DII team in the state. Their pitcher is the best pitcher in the league and the best hitter.

Tallmadge has a good shot at getting to the regional final where they would play Aurora (or Canfield, or Marlington, or Field). Canfield and Aurora are IMO the favorites to win the DII title but anything can happen in that one game.
