Regional Final Host Stadium Prognostications

Get out your maps, compasses, and dividers (or geomidpoint.com, whatever). Time for that never worn-out tradition of guessing where your regional final stadium is that:
  1. is closest to the exact mid-point between the two schools
  2. or allows for equal driving distance for both schools, as one team should not have to drive one mile more than the other team
  3. or is not more than one hour away as that's just too far!
  4. and has sufficient capacity to hold all those empty seats you brought with you this week
  5. and put in a bid to host a playoff game

I would say the West Holmes and Holy Name will probably be at Wadsworth, Barberton or cloverleaf. Definitely need a bigger stadium than cloverleaf. Home side was packed and it was standing room only

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Springfield vs Marysville back in Bellefontaine
made the trek up for the game tonight- one of my favorite places i have watched a game!

I would bet it’s at London but Bellefontaine would make sense also.

Should have sent me a message!

London makes more sense for sure. Has to be there or Bellefontaine

I hope Wadsworth or Barberton decide to host, especially Wadsworth because its one of the best HS venues in Ohio.. If not it may end up at Cloverleaf and would for sure sell out especially if WH filled the home side tonight.

HN fans definitely scooped up 2,500 of the roughly 4,000 tonight. Their side was absolutely packed and another 500 plus SRO. Brooklyn's visitor side was a little bigger than I thought. Probably not too much smaller than the home side.

Region 7
4 Massillon Washington vs. 7 Uniontown Green

North Canton Hoover?
Massillon Jackson?
Uniontown Lake?

Van Wert vs. Port Clinton - Findlay

Avon vs. TCC - Bellevue

OG vs. Elyria Catholic - Fremont

Liberty Center vs. Carey - Bowling Green

Hopewell Loudon vs. Lima CC - Findlay too, or does Liberty Benton have turf?

Region 2 final at Bellefontaine or London if they want it. I would all but guarantee London will be willing to host this week since they lost tonight.

London would be a better option imo, more visitor side seating than Bellefontaine. Springfield brought more fans tonight than the visitor side would hold, and I'm guessing from the crowd Marysville brought to Springfield a couple years ago they'll have a large crowd too. Either Hilliard school might work as well, longer distance, but both have ample seating.

I know this thread is supposed to be for the Regional Finals, but I'm going to make a prognostication for Week 15 (the State Semifinals):

In D1, the winner of Medina-St. Ed's (R1) will play the winner of Upper Arlington-Pick Central (R3) at Arlin Field.

As for this week, I'll bet my 401k on Medina-Ed's being at Byers and Lakota West-Moeller being at Mason.
