Rather than vowing to make sure Sandy Hook wouldn't happen again....

Remember, those are the same people defunding police forces across the fruited plain. Instead of police, they prefer sociologists, psychologists, and social workers to handle crime and criminals. How's that working out since these numbnuts gave away the keys to the jail cells?
No, that's how self defense classes are taught by bad Navy Seals and Special Forces Dudes and Police officers. Unreal that people that advocate guns guns guns have no clue about self defense classes and what is taught.

Awareness. Confidence / Assertiveness. Verbal skills. Psychological skills. Physical skills. Training with weapons or things that can be used as a weapon. Avoidance and being able to remove yourself from situations is very important.

I never needed self defense classes.

You have a portion of this correct Re Civilian taught Basic self defense. You are no where close Re: SF and Seal training. Please stay in your lane.

Um..the police stopped him.
Oh, so it's the police that took away his gun. He was a policeman was he not? Those moron police and their anti gun culture. Taking away guns.

Yeah, for Civilians. Ex Navy Seals, and police and Special Forces teach civilian self defense classes and that is what they teach. Entire different level if you actually go through SF and Seal training. But, then if you did that, you would not need civilian self defense course now would you? Please tell me how many women Navy Seals there are or have been. Pretty sure there has only been one woman Army Special Forces. So, is it practical to teach average ordinary women SF and NS self defense?

I'm done wasting my time reading your post on this thread. Are you on drugs today? I have no idea wth you are talking about.

I think we have plenty of laws, really all we need is background checks and the ability to hold gun owners and manufacturers accountable for their negligence. I would be fine with that.
Like we can car mfg's when a car kills someone while the driver was driving to fast?

I remember hairball being a big proponent of the front kick to the ribs. Just teach that and you're good.

So, Waukesha and Buffalo, what should their punishment be?

Again Stay in your lane. Do some Retired SF / Seals/ BUDS Vets teach self defense, probably. The majority of self defense classes are taught by Judo, Tae Kwan Doe, Kung Fu, Karate, Krav Maga trained individuals who were NOT SF, Seals or BUDS. No clue where you are going with the Women comment it had nothing to do with my response to you. SF wise No. Able to take self defense classes yes. That coupled with a Gun is good preparation for any woman looking to defend themselves, but Gun bests physical altercation every time if they need to defend themselves.

Death Penalty. In my opinion, Frankly if it was the rule rather than the exception and there was not a long stay on death row but a verdict followed shortly after by an execution we would see a drastic decrease in murders. I have always wanted the Super bowl half time celebration to be be a line up of our worst criminals, announce their crimes as they walk out strap em all into electric bleachers on the 50 yard line and light em up! Of course send the young kids out of the room for the half time show!

I agree. No lethal injection!

Because bullets come out of them and can kill people.

But he did have a gun? Others on the scene also had guns? Doesn't seem like having a gun was a 100% effective thing. DID HE USE THE GUN TO SAVE HIS WIFE? NO! Sorry, I would have gone in no matter what and died trying.
Knives can kill people too...Ban them!

Do you hold Ford accountable when someone crashes their car?

Damn.....this gets worse and worse for the police here. The punishment at least for the leadership has to be more then just losing their jobs:

Shocking testimony from the Texas DPS director on Tuesday has revealed even more insight into the “abject failure” of response to the Uvalde shooting that occurred on May 24.

Texas Department of Public Safety Director Col. Steven McCraw revealed that the husband of slain elementary teacher Eva Mireles tried to save her but was barred from doing so.

Ruben Ruiz is a police officer for the school district and was on the scene after the gunman entered the school and opened fire.

McCraw said Mireles called Ruiz and told him that “she had been shot and was dying.”

“And what happened to him, is he tried to move forward into the hallway,” McCraw said. “He was detained and they took his gun away from him and escorted him off the scene.”

It's not pretty

SCOTUS strikes down NY Law forcing residents to show the need ("proper cause) to c&c in public for self-defense. 6-3 decision.

Gotta love a conservative court that affirms natural rights.
This legislation that dems and RINOS are so giddy about is DOA in the Supreme Court

I dunno. I think some red flag laws are gonna have to come up to the court to see what they say about that part of it. The "boyfriend loophole" and increasing the eligible age of purchase from 18 to 21 might not be able to survive.

The rest of it about spending on mental health, school safety, expanding background checks to include juvenile records, etc., doesn't really have constitutional questions in it that I can see.

I'm still stuck on why any American citizen needs to pass a background check in order to exercise a Constitutional right

Because the court has held that felons give up that right when they commit their crimes. And there is a common sense interest the state has to keep legal guns out of the hands of the mentally ill. An assumption is made that the 2nd Amendment was not written for or applies to violent criminals or the psychotic, and should apply to sane, non-criminal citizens.
