Rather than vowing to make sure Sandy Hook wouldn't happen again....

Common sense approach is not too much to ask.

Expand background checks and add a waiting week. It is not rocket science.

This kid would have passed the background check.

There is no quick fix, no matter how much liberals just want to pass something for political gain, then hurriedly run off for their chardonnay.

Doing something for the sake of doing something is not a virtue.

People have suggested how to make it more difficult and the response from our resident gun grabbers is "protect the school? That's like prison!"
This is very simple. We have a problem. There need to be changes. Inaction isn't going to get us there.

Then pubs began destroying unions, pensions, healthcare benefits, collective bargaining, wage hikes, and went all-in on enriching the wealthy and said it would trickle down to the middle class. It was urine.

False. Unions priced themselves out of the market and were probably the major reason why offshoring began. Their militancy cost their members dearly, and the nation.

Ok, start with this:

Will the left acknowledge that their liberal policies of the last 40 years have led us to this juncture? Mass shootings were never an issue despite the millions of guns floating around for a century or more. What changed: breakdown of the family; lack of fathers; marriage to government; eradication of God; lack of respect and values; drugging rambunctious children; addiction to violent video games; social media. The heart of the matter lies within those elements; elements that have overtaken a large segment of society.

Until those issues are addressed and corrected, we must secure our schools and other places of gathering. Posting wussification signs such as 'Gun-free Zone' are not just asinine, but inviting to the disturbed.

What programs do you suggest should be implemented to correct these issues?

It is not fair to say Pubs don't want to address it. They do. With more guns, less background checks, less mental healthcare, and fewer restrictions on hate sites that promote bigotry, violence, and harmful conspiracies.
You are part of the problem, blocking a solution.

More blood is on you.

You're going to have to make more specific connections because your argument is banking on correlation.

How about these questions: Why are there more barriers to adopting a puppy than there are to purchasing a firearm? What is the civilian utility for owning a semi-automatic rifle?

Arguing about guns in America is like pissing against the wind of a hurricane. There are 400 million plus guns in America. You will never restrict access to any degree that is “acceptable” or “safe”.
We are dealing with the erosion of morals to the point that these shoots are way more common than in the past. A past that had the same access to firearms, without these random shootings.
You're going to have to make more specific connections because your argument is banking on correlation.

That is a lie. There isn’t. I thought you counted yourself as better than the above. Making such a bold faced lie as fact.

I think your first question is based on a false premise. And if you don't know the answer to the second question you need to retake (real) history lessons.

Specifically which ones have destroyed our families?
You want to see a specific example that destroyed black families?
Just do a search on all the programs that were part of the great society.
Also search you tube for Thomas Sowell. He goes into details on government programs and the destruction of the black family. Ultimately these programs also have done harm to all families, but the initial impact was to the black family.
In 2022. 70%+ black children are born to single black mothers.

Maybe you can refer to my prior post and discern for yourself. Most of the institutions that provided for a safe, nurturing environment for children have been shaken to the core by leftist policies. The elements I mentioned have all been materially affected for the worse. The results are what we are witnessing today. The liberal experiments have to end, now; or we are doomed in the not-too-distant future.

Ask a simple question and get a bunch of nothing in return - you should run for political office.

Correct. Up until the '70's and '80's the black family unit was strong. Then the programs kicked in; the families splintered; millions became married to the government, and the programs continued to expand. When you spend trillions on social welfare programs, you are quite simply purchasing trillion dollars' worth of welfare, broken homes, poor education, and hopelessness. You are not helping generations, you are enabling decline on a grand scale.

That is not the case IMO.

Extended background check and a waiting week. I am a gun owner and this would not bother me one bit. Simple enough.

Ramos bought his first rifle on May 17 and seven days later murdered 21 people.

If had to wait seven days ... that's right. He did wait seven days.

Except none of those things have been destroyed.

I get it. It's tough being a liberal. You are required to believe so many things that are demonstrably not true.

Reduce/Eliminate the welfare state. It has removed fathers from homes and breeds entitlement.

Actually punish criminals.

Secure schools with more safety. And put discipline back in schools. Kids who are constant trouble makers or are constantly truant should be removed and their arses thrown into reform school.

Get liberal, pill pushing child psychiatrists away from children.

That's a start.
