The Miami Trace Panthers softball team is poised for a breakout season, fueled by a talented junior class and the guidance of head coach Todd Wallace. Coming off an 8-13 record last year, the Panthers are eager to turn the page and make a deeper impact in the Frontier Athletic Conference.

The team returns several key players, including junior pitchers Kaylee Everhart and Gracie Cordell, who will be backed up by a solid field. The Panthers also boast a deep and talented lineup, with juniors Zoey Grooms, Mya Babineau, and Ellie Hoppes all expected to make significant contributions.

One of the team's biggest strengths is its pitching, with Everhart and Cordell forming a formidable duo. The Panthers also have plenty of firepower in the batter's box, with several players capable of hitting for both power and average.

Despite losing Onesti Evans to graduation, the Panthers have added some talented newcomers to the roster, including freshman Keionnie Ackley, who is expected to make an immediate impact at shortstop and second base.

As the season gets underway, Wallace is focusing on building on the progress the team made last year. "We're looking to have a more successful season than last year," he said. "We're building on what we accomplished and really looking forward to getting farther in the tournament this year."

Miami Trace will begin the season at home on 3/25 against Logan Elm then turn around and play at Jackson 3/26
