Teays Valley Softball Delivers Strong Performance in Circle

The Teays Valley softball team took to the field on Friday, facing off against Liberty Union in a highly competitive matchup. Avery Stratton started the game for Teays Valley, recording six outs and allowing just two hits and zero runs over two innings while striking out one and walking one.

Stratton also made her presence felt at the plate, driving in a run with a groundout. Aimee DeWeese and Avery Mann also contributed to the team's offense, with DeWeese doubling to center field and Mann singling to right field.

The Teays Valley bullpen took over from there, with Alyvia Lawrentz, Sydney Brumfield, and Ellie each throwing shutout innings in relief. The team's defense was solid, with multiple players contributing to the effort.

Liberty Union, the defending state champions, accumulated 10 hits in the game, with Ryleigh Brown leading the team with one run batted in. Emmalee Putnam went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Lions in hits.

The Teays Valley softball team will next face off against the Centerville Elks on March 26, with first pitch scheduled for noon. This will be the first game of Teays Valley's Cincy Tour!

(The game was a scrimmage; Liberty Union had 13-9 and Teays Valley had 3-1 and at the end, they were doing situational hitting.)
