#PACtion™ 2024

Hard to get a read on that game, Minerva walked 16 batters...... not downplaying our potential but might find out more tonight against NW considering they only lost 4-2 to the "Mighty" Tigers.
Yeah I had a feeling that the game probably said more about Minerva than Tuslaw based on the box score that I saw. After an 0-23 basketball campaign though, happy to at least get a "1" in the win column early in the season lol. Agree that Northwest, and the PAC in general, will be a much better test.

The older I get, the less I think things like this were accidents..... Seems umm, interesting to me, that in the last couple years we've had supply chain issues causes by ports being inaccessible because of Cargo Ship crashes. The first one in the 2021 in the Suez Canal because a ship beached itself. Interesting that a captain of a ship like that would "accidentally" run his ship aground. Now this, based on the path of the ship it sure looks like it steered right, directly at that support structure. These are massive ships, they don't turn on a dime - so they had to be directed into these bad situations and you'd think the errors would be caught before catastrophe if they weren't done on purpose.

This bridge is going to take a decade to rebuild.
This is a video shared with me by a friend who is a merchant mariner. I have shared this video with other journalists in the newsroom where I work. Having lived in Baltimore for 20 years, this was a complete shock. Hope this video provides a good explanation.

For sure, and on the flip side, not sure what Massillon lost or what they have coming. I know a couple kids over there from overlap with travel ball playing with my own kid, but that's about it. I don't believe Massillon is at the level they had/have been the last 5 years or so, but purely a guess on my part.

Oh wow! Rich Not Yett!...I forgot all about him....yes we make fun of him...lol....mediocre talent yet back in the day making 6 figures...

Baseball Almanac Top Quote

"A few people have ribbed me about that. They'll say, 'Hey Jesse, 70 games pitched and 30 innings.' They think it's an easy life, but I have to be in good shape, just as if I were pitching two or three innings at a time. You'll get into a lot of games in this role." - Orosco, Jesse. Lefty Relief Specialists in Demand. Baseball Digest, August 1998. Page 15.

Did Tuslaw go 0-23 for basketball?

Same problem would persist in poaching any team/teams from WCAL - those 3 teams I mentioned would all immediately apply for WCAL.

I think the simple solution is a merger. PACtion and WCAL merger to form wcPACtion. The new WCPAC would be look similar to the IVC. Who says no?
I love that idea. I think the only thing holding that back is Wayne County conservatism and I'm talking cultural/sports and not politics in my meaning.

If you work in business you've heard it a million times: "Why do we need to change?" "We're fine the way we are." "We've always done it this way."

That's what I think you'd get from the WCAL.

A merged PACtion™ and WCAL is 15 schools so you gotta add one more school to make either a total of four, four-team pods or two divisions of 8. Of course you could do 3 divisions of 5 schools each.
Again, I suggest the same thing two years ago and I'm an idiot then. Now, all of a sudden, it's a great idea?

Back to a bit of baseball albeit maybe some dirty laundry, @thePITman. Assuming you have knowledge on this incident, but I heard that one of if not your best players took a ball to the face during a bunting drill following a scrimmage. If the details I heard are true regarding the distance from the coach to the players and the velocity of said pitches, I would be owning that school if I was that family based on the picture I saw and what happened to his mouth/face.

1. Good for him
2. How? How does a guy who last played hs football in 2019 still have 2 years of eligibility entering 2024 season? Crazy!
3. This is not a knock on him, but there’s a lesson in his story for families about recruiting. Started as ACC commitment and will finish in 1-AA 6 years later. Very seldom is life a straight line.

He should have stayed with the Duke offer. Even if he did not get to play, the education would have set him up for life.

Yes, I agree. The globalists are planning to bring us to our knees by crippling the legendary port of..... Uh.... Baltimore. Now the vessels will have to be diverted all the way to the Port of Virginia, untold miles away and delaying deliveries by minutes and possibly even hours!
Not that easy. $80 billion worth of freight moves through the Port of Baltimore every year. It's a major auto import/export port, coal port, and food/produce port. It was operating at capacity. The next closest port is Norfolk. That's an eight to 12 hour trip via the Chesapeake at regulated cruising speeds in marked shipping channels. Norfolk is also operating at capacity with dozens of vessels waiting to move into port already.

There are ships trapped in Baltimore Harbor, and they'll be there at least for five more days. There are also ships stacked up in the Chesapeake and in the C&D Canal waiting to get into Baltimore. They may be diverted to Wilmington, Delaware or Philly, but that's another 8 to 12 hour sail, and those ports are also running at capacity.

I can tell you my employer imports products from Europe to Norfolk to Ohio and @Stizostedion is correct. It's taking forever through Norfolk.

Duke football has been making bowl games and the economy from Winston Salem east to Raleigh is growing like a weed so there's plenty of opportunity after college if you stayed in North Carolina. The traffic on I-40 is hot and I know first hand when I drive to my free beach house at Wrightsville Beach, NC.

That port took in almost 900,000 import vehicles last year and is responsible for $80 billion in imports total. If you don't think that effects things you're not awake - or better yet, maybe you're too woke....

I was under the impression it is not your free beach house...if I have this correct you are only as good as your next yoga and skyline chili from saying Wrightsville what?...lol
Watching a lot of Bravo with my GF and "other things" can earn a free beach house AND someone to go to Bengals & college basketball games with.

She loves Hungarian American men.

I dislike ESPN more than a Hungarian dislikes an Ottoman Empire invasion but this ESPN article was eye opening. Imagine you've never sent a text or email in your life and you're gonna be 73 with 7 national titles to your name and millions of shekels in the bank:

Make us the cowboys/cowgirls but use cow print pattern on all the uniforms 🐄
Carrollton Cowboys actually is cool and smart. I like it.

When Columbus was in the process of getting an NHL team many people wanted to call them the Mad Cows due to the old Columbus "cow town" nickname. Of course the business community, media, and city government leaders hated it.

I would have gone with the Columbus Golden Bears in honor of Jack Nicklaus. Yes a hockey team named after a golfer. Blue Jackets have grown on me. Too bad the team stinks like a Swartzentruber Amishman in the aisles of the Orrville Buehlers.

I'll second that about I-40. I take it to get to my free beach house in Ocean Isle. I can usually factor in standstill traffic at least twice around Raleigh-Durham. Get east of that and usually it's free and clear all the way to Wilmington.
