#PACtion™ 2024

I will say that Speedway has a much better rewards program than BellStores, as BellStores only gives you points if you go INTO the store, whereas Speedway gives points just for purchasing gas.

Sheetz is good for our annual midnight food stop in Breezewood, PA, on our way to the Outer Banks. But that's about it. Build a Buc-ees, and then we'll talk.

Hopefully this was enough gas station talk for @Anvil . LoL! (I laughed out loud at your comment, by the way)
I'm on the road a lot for work, too. I have to say my preference is:
Buc-ees
WaWa
Royal Farm
Sheetz
Everything Else

PACtion™ had me feeling real tuff this weekend.

was outside chopping wood with the edge of my hand listening to Voodoo Chile by Jimi
Ran around the house with scissors, sat 2 inches from tv, rode standing up in the back of a pick up truck, fist fought an angry bear, and drank water from a garden hose.

week 5 - who is fading who is going to rework some things and make a second half push.

definitely feeling dangerous this week for the mid season games as we see more awesome matchups in the league.

PACtion™ is tuffness - somewhere in the world in a different language the way you pronounce tuffness in their language is PACtion™

What does someone get for joining the Panther Paws? Do you get earmuffs or a cookbook like when you donate to a PBS fundraising drive?
Gold level gets you, half off apps at the tavern, and a Coach France signed pickleball paddle with your very own spot on the fence at the tavern. Rumor has it they gather each year at the end of the season in a secret ceremony at Lockhart and vote on weather or not to fire the head coach. Last year Brody Jackson and Mickey Pavlich burnt a James Harrison Steelers jersey to break this loosing streak. They had to drain the Bands fundraising account to pay for their tab at the tavern unfortunately. Hence why they will only be wearing polos while playing this year.

Orrville threw three picks, two of which were pick 6's and had a fumble they lost on the 5 going in to score. Week 10 is primed to have 15 turnovers and 110 defensive points between them and the Titans

What is the power standings of the PAC now? Here's my order:
CVCA (though won't be considered the PAC champ if they beat all of the rest since they aren't in the PAC)
Canton South- the OOC was a big factor. Fantastic 50 has them winning league.
Manchester- I think their confidence is growing
Triway- good OOC schedule
Northwest- missing a key personnel is gonna hurt
Orrville- will play enough ups to be .500
Fairless- OOC was too weak. I think before you know it, some losses will be strung together.
Tuslaw- they've shown us how good CVCA is at this point. They will, like Manchester last year, improve but maybe the record won't indicate this much.

I see Manchester and Triway winning two playoff games, the rest getting in (maybe not Tuslaw) and wining one maybe, at this point.

After watching that NW/Manchester game, I would put $$ on Manchester winning the PAC this year with NW just behind them. I don't see Manchester losing another game against ACTUAL PAC teams.

There goes NW out of the AP top 10, oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

Shouldn't have been there to begin with....

But I agree with you, I think Manchester is the team to beat in the league. I think Northwest is the team to beat when they're healthy.

1. Manchester
2. Northwest
3. Triway
4. Canton South
5. Orrville
6. Fairless
7. Tuslaw

I completely agree they shouldn't have been there, it was just fun seeing it.

In your rankings, the only thing that is yet to be seen is Triway versus Canton South, otherwise that is spot on. I would say those two deserve a two-way tie at this point. Possibly Orrville and Fairless could flip flop, especially since Orrville does a coin flip before the game to see if they will try to win or not. ha

I jotted this down on Saturday:

1. Triway 4-0 (1-0)
  • Still the best win of the year in the league against West Holmes
  • They exposed Fairless
  • If they learn how to finish drives … look out
2. CVCA 2-2 (N/A)
  • Have allowed 137 yards rushing in three games (including Lake Catholic) since yielding 342 to Streetsboro
  • Jury is still out - Woodridge and Tuslaw should be wins
  • Joey Kopec needs to get going
3. Manchester 4-0 (1-0)
  • Beat Northwest in a classic; in the driver’s seat (who would have thunk it?)
  • Defense historically good through 4 games
  • Big games still to come against Triway, Orrville, South and CVCA
4. Northwest 3-1 (0-1)
  • Not the same without Parker Kraft
  • Chase Badger will win more than he will lose
  • Kellen Reinford was Next Man Up in the backfield, but it’s hard to replace senior-level production
5. Canton South 2-2 (1-0)
  • Defense looked porous at times against Orrville, but was also opportunistic
  • A good couple of weeks overall, but still finding a way as the young guys mature right before our eyes
  • Another big opportunity on Friday
5. Orrville 2-2 (0-1)
  • At this point, the inconsistency is a three-year pattern
  • Good enough to beat the best teams on their schedule
  • The proverbial Riddle wrapped in a Mystery inside an Enigma
  • Will the real Red Riders please stand up?
7. Fairless 3-1 (0-1)
  • Pasteur’s Fantastic 50 has them as underdogs in their next five games
  • Four of final six on the road
  • Could The Blue Cup be in jeopardy?
8. Tuslaw 2-2 (0-0)
  • There is improvement from a year ago
  • But it’s still a major Work in Progress
  • Can Dial keep them focused as they run the gauntlet before meeting Fairless in Week 10?

As an unofficial/official speaking rep for The Silent Flock, I'd have to say The Quiet Company's OOC schedule works for them and geographically makes sense playing a bordering district (Tusky Valley borders Falcon Land), a not far away (for them) district (Sandy Valley), and a school about 30 minutes away in Claymont.

What works for The Silent Flock may not work for others but AJ Sarbaugh quietly has had a good run with the Falcons. Will it last? History says no but as I've said......winning is going to ebb and flow for the small #PACtion schools.

I personally will not respect them until they schedule Massillon, La Salle, and Hoban in consecutive weeks. But in all seriousness I said this last year and the year before, there's no reason for a team of their size to schedule up when they are going to face at a minimum 3 bigger schools in conference play every year

There’s a fine line between scheduling “up” and scheduling whatever 3 same size schools happen to be the closest. Half the WCAL teams are same size or smaller and would have been a better prep for Fairless. And werent they D4 2 of the last 3 years?

Them of course there’s the all times win party that wasn’t.

AJ is a good coach but it’s kinda hard to take them serious most of the time.

After years of getting CVCA‘S color scheme wrong, Joe Eitel has finally fixed the color scheme on their schedule page. There’s something psychological about a team’s colors being incorrect on a website that’s devoted to accuracy.

I would guess that the Royals would’ve beaten Lake Catholic had that happened sooner.

Is there a conspiracy afoot!

The aroma of that slow kettle cooked Mids sauce at PBTS would be amazing.

Believe me I'd love for The Slaw to have the program ready for scheduling up. In fact, look it up, the basketball team several years ago best Perry over at the Larry Wilson/Chip Hare Arena and softball has scheduled up to the point you'd think The Slaw was a part of The Feds.

But some sports at some schools take longer to build up.

I get why The Silent Flock plays neighboring TV, close by Tozzi's & Cibo's All Stars and reasonably close Claymont. If you want to ding the Flock, maybe it's the Claymont game.

Orrville, CVCA, Northwest, and South currently are scheduling up for the Falcons. Historically certainly so.

And then there was Manchester all those years with Koach against Brewster & Navarre & The Beach City speed trap.

AJ Sarbaugh did what he had to do.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe The Silent Flock also has played Waynedale and Dalton in non league gridiron games.

And yes I think you'll see Fairless dip with their on field performance before likely rising again.

Each school has to put itself first much like a nation state needs to in world affairs. Nationalism (Fairless or Tuslaw First) over globalism "if you wiiilll" (said with Dusty Rhodes voice).

Look at Manchester's OOC this year....

Coventry (a Pat Shurmer or David Shula mess currently but they border Manchester; I'm not knocking our beloved Comets, either.....great fans and welcome back to #PACtion™).

Marlington Hagan's. Bigger D3/4 school but not a power haus historically and definitely not this year. The only power haus over there is the Hagan political and heating & cooling dynasty. When and where will Christina Hagan run again?

I'm old enough to remember Marlington begging to leave the Federal League as my Fed constituents likely remember because they could not beat a flank steak or a schnitzel(!) with a super sized mallet. They are an up and down "progrum" (Pat McAfee West Virginia/Western PA lingo).

Sandy Valley. Same opponent as The Silent Flock this year. Great food down there and Brian Gamble is a good coach with Keith Wakefield tuffness in his schooling.

And before the GREAT Manchester fans come after Kotite....what did this OOC schedule do?

Got youse prepped to beat your neighbors in Canal Fulton. And isn't that More Than a Feelin' like the Boston song played way too much on 97.5 WONE?

----

Koach was very creative and smart in his OOC and would play Green when his program (progrum) was rolling like they did around the 1997-99 era. But that's the key phrase....he had his program rollin' like Butterbean rolling down the Deerfield Avenue hill on a cold, icy January day.

There was only ONE Koach; a unique talent and hall of famer.

That's my filibusterin' (RIP American Dream Dusty). Big Dust used to always say a pro wrestler speaking his mind was filibusterin'.

We don't have to go super deep into this and derail the thread but they played the same out of conference schedules in '21 and '22 while winning league titles and have had TV and SV on their schedule since 2017 and I imagine those games have become something of a rivalry since then which a school that lacks identity like Fairless does probably appreciates

Simply put there's no reason why The Silent Flock should not play TV and SV.

Of course I outlined that in great detail. There is no derailing of the Brewster railroad that IS the #PACtion™ thread, either.

I know all about the Brewster railroad which is the epitome of tuffness just like going to Strasburg after practice for all you can eat spaghetti or Colucci's for burgers and garlic fries on a Saturday while the John Blooper Buckeyes inevitably disappointed us.

That was like 1985 they were hang in the Fed and wanting out....lol

Dude. #PACtion™ is a Hue Jackson playbook. We let it rip like Bret Bielema after eating broccoli.

There is no plan!
