#PACtion™ 2024

You won't.....lol. Hopefully a good Lake supporter provides you all food (sandwiches, water & pop) like John George's does with the Tigers and Mustangs. (Historically they have....of course who knows about the year 2024?).

I'd be really surprised if the Lake bus crew isn't getting back to the #330 with extreme focus and no stops.

My nephew played D2 college football with road trips much farther than 2 hours to Pittsburgh. They got one rest stop break for 9-10 hour bus trips. They usually got home at 3:00 am.

Hopefully Lake purchased the EZ pass for the turnpike. If they take US 30 home....that's tuffness. About the same time on the road but beware of Bambi, East Liverpool and Minerva.
I know we have a charter bus or two....the band is not going...cheerleaders on the bus with supervision...lol....I think we are leaving at 12:30...game is at 5 pm...next game is to start at 8 pm...with us getting in before rush hour and leaving at 8:30...we will get back at a decent hour

If it's me I'm leaving Lake at 11 or 11:30 but that's on you guys....

I just know be prepared for the unexpected with Pittsburgh driving. I'm not knocking Pittsburgh as a region but I'm being real. Driving there is unique and, honestly, nuts.

I am from the south west portion of Pittsburgh and I do my best to avoid the east as traffic is horrible. This is what I know.

Near Wolverana: 10 min or so away

Roman Bistro is an ok Italian Restaurant. But I'm highly critical of Italian food.

Triangle Bar- is a great sub shop (a dive) https://www.trianglebarswissvale.com/#*
Vincent Pizza Park- used to be great when original owner was alive, but I heard it has slipped since.

Homestead Waterfront- about 20 min

A mix of chain places with a few local places. I recommend Primantis is you never had one.

Monroeville- about 20 min pass

A mix of local and chain restaurants. The most choices in that part of town.

Squirrel Hill/Oakland- horrible traffic but many local establishments with a few chain places mixed in. My favorite in this area is Mineos pizza and Aiello Pizza. Both places featured on Bar Stool pizza review.

again, I stay away from this area, many of these places could have taken turns for the worse. These opinions are over 15 years ago.
This is great. If I ever have another weekend trip to Pittsburgh....

Nah!! You want tuffness run Rt 43 to RT 22, kids get a good view of the thriving nightlife of Weirton WV.
I have done that route...not all at once...lol...if I am picking up 22 I am doing that below Cadiz...Rt 43 and Rt 9 below Carrollton are special...Road kill entertainment...lol...The thriving night life of Weirton is something not to see...lol...I have had to go thru Weirton to get to East Liverpool...lol

I had to cover Pittsburgh every now and then...have driven enough over there that it is an adventure...I actually remembered how to parallel park on either side of the street...the left side or driver's side was tricky...lol...that is one of the reasons I am going to ride the bus...lol

Is this Pittsburgh team tuff or a meatball?
We are playing Mckeesport at Woodland Hills High School...they are D 2 size...was 10 and 4 last year...have numerous starters back with size and run the triple option...they are good and would be extremely competitive in the Fed...actually is a tough game to start a lot of young guys..which we will be doing..here is there stadium..it is called Wolverana

That's legit. I mean it's not BellStores Stadium Broc Dial legit tuffness with our pallets of cash and mini van moms....but seriously that's legit. I love the state of North Carolina but those Tar Heel colors lack tuffness.

Traditionally McKeesport is one of the WPIAL 's tuff guys teams.

Athletic and real physical old school football with a flexbone offense. Lake is playing them the right time of year as McKeesport is a slow starter as they work out the kinks on offense. Case in point, in 2005 ( I know it was long ago but it illustrates what im saying) they won the state title , but lost the first game of the year by 30 points due to turnovers. By week 3 they rarely turned it over. Not saying it is that extreme every year, but the point stands that they start slow every year.

Last year McKeesport lost in the WPIAL championship game against Alquippa. I am not sure who the Tigers return but they are preseason top 5 in 4A (think D3) in the WPIAL.

Great info...plus being triple option we have a little more time to get ready for it...and then playing Boardman the next week with them going back to the wing T...we can concentrate on this offense a little more...our unknown will be our offense...we are not as fast as we have been..new Quarterbacks, New running backs, a couple of new wideouts, and some new lineman...going to be a work in progress

It is a great old school stadium that was built in 1942 and holds over 12k. The surrounding neighborhood isn't great, but it is safe with a strong police presence.

Just some of the guys who wore "Woody High" colors that lack toughness.

NFL HOFer Jason Taylor
Future NFL HOFer Rob Gronkowski
Current NFLer Myles Sanders
Other NFL players like Steve Breaston, Shawnee Spencer, others NFLers and many D1 starters that I'm forgetting.

In other words, don't judge a book by it cover. Those Woodland Hills Boyz are as tough as it comes

The player resume is beyond tuff and far better than anything from Lake Township in Stark County, Ohio.

But.

It's just those colors. Great in hoops (and I love....LOVE....hoops) but I don't see football tuffness with Tar Heel colors.

I mean come on when UNC comes to Heinz Field yinz start commenting on those colors.

I also went to a Pitt game vs Rutgers at Hunts Red Gold Stadium (do any of you DeWine voting goofballs get this?) which is super tuff.

Pitt band did a tribute to Michael Jackson....it was hot. 🔥

Hire Paul Hackett. West Coast offense. Without a search is he still alive?

Matt Canada could lead youse to some good 3 & outs.

Akron University...I am still wondering how that happened...lol...also the info I have read Woodland Hills is pretty tuff when they play at their place

I once rode my bike on SR 9 from Carrollton to Germano and then took SR 646 (I think) west to New Rumley to visit the General Custer State Memorial. That ride was special...Started and finished the route from Southgate Shopping Ctr for 91 miles. Also rode to and from Southgate from home for an additional 21 miles, so 112 miles for that day. Oh, to be young again!
