#PACtion™ 2024

The USA is the greatest country on God's green earth, but make no mistake there are many ill's we face. A great many of those ill's we recognize but we cannot pinpoint when it started. But I can pinpoint when this country started to go soft and that was the 1994 World Cup that was played in the USA.

Tuffness was put on notice that day as we allowed the European Socialist sport to gain traction that it did have in our tuff land.
No I think Donald Fehr ruined everything but you got the year correct. 1994.

Another great read...get the bad news out of the way...Lake lost to GlenOak 21 to 0 that night...was the worst team at the time for Jeff Durbin...went 3 and 7.

The game of Manchester vs Mooney at Lake I was there...helping in the box with our stat guy. Mooney had a player by the name of Nate Burney...he put on a show that night...scored 3 TD's...the first being memorable...he went 98 yards to score their first TD...you can see it below..click on it, it is timed up

What I find amazing is our field was in great shape for grass...normally by season end with football and soccer it was beat up
The early-to-mid 2000's Mooney teams were so fun to watch, especially highlight tapes.

Yes and then he and Bud Selig did it even more damage in 1998....Steroids, Steroid, Steroids....they did not crack down that year..McGuire hits 70 homers, Sosa hits 66, and 13 hit over 40 homers....did it all for the cash...

George Zagales was too tuff for Wilkshire Hills:

Imagine what he could have said to immediately be relieved of his job?

Perhaps something along the lines of … “We just dominated that PAC team in plays from scrimmage, yards and time of possession and still somehow scored zero points and lost to a coach who had zero career wins, but will be the future winningest coach in Fairless football history.”

I suppose that might have done it.

I was thinking a few too many words that rhyme with duck.

---

There are some hires in business or sports, etc., that seem odd to an outsider. Hiring a coach from Miami for Tusky Valley (Zagales) just seemed off to me and that it was never going to work.

---
Curtis Love, the coach who replaced Dale Martini at Tusky Valley, is now an assistant football coach and wrestling coach at Conotton Valley.

If he had to do it again I wonder if he would have scrapped Martini's wing-T which worked well for years?

The one big fact that stands out was Fairless losing to Sandy Valley the week before 42 to 13....that game film must have been bad...to the point that he may have said to the staff after watching the film of Sandy Valley smashing Fairless...if we lose to these guys we should all be fired.

Every coach has a moment or two where you have to have a come to Jesus meeting.....and I will say when it happens...there is not a sound from anybody but the coach.....it does make you sit up and take notice....and if anybody does or says something that interrupts said discussion....oh that is not pretty

The man in the brown suit has no time for such chicanery.

You know what PACtion needs to solidify it's tuffness...... Prancerise as a mandated sport, add for all those All-Sports Trophy opportunist. I can't take credit for this, found it trolling on a random thread about gym class in schools.

You just gave away your youth...somebody's mom in the neighborhood must have looked like this woman and the hairstyle that you found hottttt...what the heck did PACtion do to you to make us see this....lol

I have a core memory one time our coach was reading us the riot act about how we weren't going to win a game because we weren't taking practice seriously during two-a-days. He kinda threw his hands in the air and told us to go get water. It was like 80 kids in dead silence for a couple minutes until the big introverted senior tackle piped up, mostly to himself, "We're at least gonna beat Meadowbrook..."

He was doing some soul searching.

Come on man, the steroid era is baseball was the absolute best time for baseball. Now, they are all using peptides which are highly unregulated and easy to get and work better than good ol fashioned roids!!

Steroids? Oh, I'll top that. The Pirate Parrot mascot was even involved in this sordid scandal.

I don't think I have to ask....I mean it is or was Meadowbrook....but did you beat them...lol.

Nothing like being in the arena when the coach has had it and expresses it....1993 Lake lost to GlenOak week 3 in double OT....turns out to be there only league win...we are 1 and 2....Durbin just goes off on the team in the locker room after the game....he is out there with the team by himself...he gets done and comes into the coaches office...steam rolling out his ears...nobody is saying anything....then Luke Durbin (his son..who is around 8 years old) looks at Jeff and asks are we out of the playoffs...we all cringed...Jeff looks at him says that is a long way off pats him on the head and tells him to go get a hot dog that had just been brought in....after that we win 10 in a row and lose the state final....the comments made was Luke was the only one who knew we would make the playoffs...lol

There are two ways to look at this....let them all use it and see what happens or to try and control it....there are always unintended consequences....so I am in the camp you try and control or limit....and yes I know that they work on making bigger stronger

Any chance Coach Dial will incorporate this for Tuslaw pregame warm up?
