OHSAA looking at Massillon transfer app

Does he now? Whats his height and weight? Can you say if he does now it was because he played at Massillon? Do you know for sure had he
stayed at Copley he wouldn't have gotten the same offers he may get since he's at Massillon?

he received da one D1 offer in May, three months prior to taking a snap in orange and black

Fact….the school was put on probation for 3 years for the illegal recruitment of Mumford and “several” other players. Moore was also not allowed to coach in the playoffs.

Those would be considered recruiting violations.
Illegal “recruitment” because they drove him to a college visit during the time that they were in process of becoming legal guardians at the request of his mother. Yeah we’re really out here breaking the rules left and right 😂 who were the “several” players that were also recruited? I’m sure they had to miss games or were ineligible which is weird because I don’t recall anyone missing games. 🤔🤔🤔

I guess we’ll never know…but what we do know is that no D1 school offered him while he was at Copley.
But if a school offered him in May they probably already had him in their radar, I highly doubt they just saw him at a showcase and bam. Just
posting another side.

If he was offered in May, he was at Massillon. Perhaps that offer was a way of showing their respect for his willingness to be tested on the largest stage -- a confidence that staying at Copley could not justify.

Nonetheless, we now see this thread taking on the traits of a typical Massillon thread: a few of the Massillon trolls are drifting in with their backhanded comments and disparagement.

if the form was done honestly and correctly - then no one named du one should be worried.

any of the other opinions about it being right, wrong, invasive, whatever really matter.

I had to provide documentation to some of the statements I made on the form.
Why did you have to fill out that form?

The form is not new, so where was the outrage before today about the form and what it asks.
Most people hadn't seen it before today.

Again the school is not a part of the statements made and signed.
They absolutely are. That are responsible for conducting residency checks.

There are thousands of kids attending Massillon schools. How many are district employees required to follow home at night?

If the student and parents/guardians are being honest and there are no inconsistencies between the statements and the truth then this will just go away, right?
Because missing games is of no consequence or concern. He's already been punished. Is that what you mean by "just go away"?

The form was fudged or somebody lied about something for it to get reviewed this late in the season.
Pure conjecture. Perhaps it's nothing more than an unfounded allegation.

Figures this all comes after St. Ed’s gets beat… if they rule against the transfer application, do all prior wins result in loses? or do they just lose the QB for remainder of season?

Oil I don't respect much of what you post and I'm sure you don't care, at least I hope you don't. However, D1 scholarships aren't handed out like candy and merrily showing up at Massillon doesn't grant one because they think a kid is now willing to play some tougher teams.

Doesn't it have to do with eligibility after week 5 of the regular season? Isn't that an OHSAA magic cutoff date?

You know this how? Maybe a school wants to get in early, thinking the kid will look at them more favorably because "they believed in me before anyone else" or some such. Something flips the switch on every kid that gets any offer from anywhere. Who knows? However, it's indisputable that performing at a high level playing Massillon's schedule means a whole lot more than it would playing Copley's schedule.

Exactly right. Also, recruiters do try to establish good relationships and make inroads with good programs that have other prospects, whether Bass likes it or not. That alone raised his profile.

I know that many people want to believe that “they’ll find you anywhere”, and that statement has become more true in the modern era, but playing at a good program and against other good programs still matters. Frankly, it matters more so in football as well because unlike baseball and basketball and individual sports you can’t go play on some AAU or travel team in the offseason to showcase yourself on a bigger stage or in front of college coaches.

The amount of loopholes that schools all across the state take advantage of and this is the one they come after because it’s massilon? The fact that this is being looked into more than glenville using a loop hole to have a 0 CB is absurd. Let the kid play and move on. This should have been closed before the season started
As the wordsmith Jeezy so eloquently stated “when you get jammed up don’t mention my name”.
