OHSAA Announces Golf, Girls Tennis, Soccer and Girls Volleyball Tournament Divisions
Football divisions and regions will be announced on Thursday

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio High School Athletic Association has announced the new divisional breakdowns for the upcoming fall sports of golf, girls tennis, soccer and girls volleyball. The divisions and regional assignments for football will be announced on Thursday. The divisions for cross country were announced last Thursday.

Earlier this month, schools were given the opportunity to move up to Division I. The divisional breakdowns linked below reflect any schools that opted up to Division I in that sport.

The 2025-26 school year is the second of the current two-year enrollment cycle using data provided by the Ohio Department of Education.

For golf, the official start date for tryouts, practice and competition is July 28. For all other fall sports, tryouts and practice can begin on August 1, followed by staggered season start dates by sport. State tournament host sites and formats will be announced in August.

Interesting moves in SW D1. 3 fron D2 opt up, Little Miami, Loveland, St Ursula. Mt Notre Dame stays in 2. No surprise St Joe's opts up again, but Magnificat stays in 2. No clue what Copley is doing. SW D2 appears to have just 12 teams, so 3 districts.

LM must have a decent roster; past 3 years below .500.

D1, Region 4 Semi-finalists in 2024 were Fairfield, Milford, Mason, and Seton.
D2 Region 8 Semi-finalists in 2024 were Loveland, Mt Notre Dame, and St Ursula (only 3 teams from Cincinnati made regionals because of #'s.

Maybe Little Miami was taking a calculated risk that they had a better chance to make it further in D1 than D2 not knowing St Ursula and Loveland were making the same move.

D1 will certainly be a much tougher region next season with Seton, St Ursula, Mason, Loveland, etc.
Last year, teams had the option to go through the Columbus region. Seton and Mason both stayed in Cincinnati. Sycamore ended up choosing the Columbus route and lost to Centerville in a district final. If formats are similar, the Columbus route might be a popular choice this upcoming season.

Here is what is happening in SW Ohio with D1 and D4 being the most competitive Divisions

D1
- Seton is loaded and I smell back to back State Championships
- SUA lost some studs, expect they will take a bit of a step back
- Loveland is loaded, should make a run in D1, but getting past Seton will be tough
- Mason is loaded, but again I think Seton is the standard for D1

D2
- MND should be really good as they didn't lose too much
- Kings has a lot of talent coming back, they are the only team in the area that could push MND

D3
- Ursuline lost a lot, expect them to take a step back but D3 in SWOH is not that deep
- Baden lost their best players

D4
- Mcnick is loaded, expect them to make a run for D4 State Title
- Roger Bacon lost everybody, they will probably be down
- Mercy Mculley brings back a lot of talent, they will be tough to beat
- Fenwick moves up to D4 and they should make a run, lot of returning talent
- CHCA lost their two best players but their roster has depth, could make a run

D5
- Summit has one of the best players in the State (Penn St commit). Rumors she might not be at Summit next season

Great post. Couple notes. Badin is D3 this season.

Mason loses 3 of their top 4 kill leaders plus their Libero and top DS. They return both setters and one of their MBs.

Ursuline had a nice freshman class this past season. They might not drop as much as some think.

McNick returns almost every key piece. Should be top 3 in the area this year, regardless of division.

Mercy McAuley was 10-16 (1-7 GGCL) and lose 5 out of their 6 front-row starters and their Libero. They only return 2 players that played regularly last season. OH/S Emma Adkins and DS Devin Carter. It will be a tough road for Mercy McAuley for the foreseeable future. Sad to see as they've been very competitive.

What's the Kendall Northern scoop? Destination?
