Ohio State 15, No. 8 seed Cornell 7

Ohio State led 11-2 at the half, which was enough to send the Buckeyes to their first NCAA tournament victory. Peet Poillon scored three goals in a game for the fifth time this season. Joel Dalgarno added two goals and two assists for the Buckeyes, who have scored 10 or more goals in 12 of their last 13 games. The game's first goal was scored by Ohio State goalie Stefan Schroder. Ohio State is now 11-2 this season when scoring 10 or more goals. Ohio State's 15 goals matched the most Cornell has allowed this season. It also tied the most allowed by Cornell at home in an NCAA tournament game. The Big Red fall to 13-4 all-time at home in NCAA tournament games. Cornell's Ryan Hurley, who came into the game tied for third in the nation in goals per game (3.1) had two goals and an assist. This was the worst loss for Cornell since a 14-4 loss to Georgetown in 2004. Ohio State will next face Duke in the quarterfinals in a matchup of the nation's top-scoring team (Duke) against the nation's fourth-best scoring offense (Ohio State).

GO BUCKS!!!

Ohio State to be good in coming years as Ohio State doesn't have the admissions standards that all Dukes and Johns Hopkins of the world do. Also a very large school and lots of scholarship money to be given away

not much of an upset
ohio st.-9 seed
cornell-8 seed

ohio state was also on a huge streak except the ND game
they weren't even supposed to be in the top 20 more or less the playoffs

Thanks for your input, but Cornell was the only "seeded team" in that game. I agree with you that OSU has been playing some great lacrosse. Beating Denver twice this year and big wins over UNC and Cornell. Close losses to UMBC and Navy don't hurt either.

It will be very very hard to come within a couple of goals from Duke
They will have to play out of thier minds and hope Duke plays awful
It though can happen
