Ohio State Recruiting

This post is ridiculous. McFadden is a 4-star. And he is widely considered to be better than his current ranking and had offers from Georgia, Penn State, and Oregon among others. Ohio State has another outstanding offensive lineman in this class and they aren't done recruiting O-line yet. Oh yeah, they also have the overall top-ranked recruiting class.
I always look at offers rather than stars.

He just became a composite 4 star last night. Must have been the OSU bump. Interesting that he had offers from those other schools but doesn’t commit to any of them. How do we know they’re even legit offers? Yes the overall class is elite but OSU has swung and missed bad on some crucial positions.

You lose credibility with every post like this

Since OL is the hardest position to recruit and the recruits in most cases have to be totally developed, maybe the portal is the best way to go for OL. Get players with college football experience. Better chance of knowing what you are getting.

How do we know any offer to any recruit is legit then? Your obsession with where 17 year olds choose to go to college is odd at best

Yet you cry about the coaching
Correct. If OSU actually had coaches I trusted who could develop and call plays in the biggest games at the most crucial moments I wouldn’t worry nearly as much about recruiting but here Ryan Day needs a 20 million dollar roster to sniff a title.

So I give you an explanation and all you have to say is go cheer for Michigan?
He played for a title in ‘21, before NIL.
Every school is allowed to pay their players.
So yes, go cheer for Michigan. Actually take Stallions place on the coaching staff. You already look like him

OSU is doing just fine in NIL, they didn’t lose Sanders due to NIL. Do you have have any more excuses?

Who the heck is Sanders? Are you talking about the recruit that went to Tennessee because they gave someone that has never played a down in college $800k a year? I’ve made it clear that I don’t care about recruiting ratings, just prove what you can do on the field on Saturday’s.

I better not see you complaining in two years then when all of these 3 star linemen are not up to OSU standards.

McFadden is a four star. You really have stupid views.
Montgomery and Padilla last year were four star. Moore this year is four star. Lowe next year is four star. McFadden is considered by some as four star.

McFadden JUST got his 4th star after the Buckeye bump, still low ranked and doesn’t play the position the program needs most.

The rest, all from Ohio. You aren’t very good at reading are you? Your expectations of the program seem to align with what Penn State is doing. Go be a fan of them

LOL, this was OSU's starting line in 2014: Decker 4*, Price 4*, Elflein 3*, Boren 3*, Baldwin 3* DE. Pretty good oline take your Buckeye in sheep clothing and go start a thread about how great the SEC and TCUN are.

Edit: I believe every one of those players were either drafted by the NFL or at least had a cup of coffee in the NFL

2014 is starting to become a decent while ago. Most if not all of those players were towards the end of OSU being able to land the majority of their class from Ohio and still be title contenders. That is no longer the case.

If Tegra Tshabola does not end up starting at guard then that will make the first time in my life that and maybe ever that an OSU offense doesn’t have one player from Ohio starting on it.

Darryl Baldwin was a composite top 250 player btw had and legit offensive tackle measurables.

Taylor Decker is going to end up making around $150 million as an NFL OT.

OL is one of the few position groups where they can still take the majority of their class in-state most years. Which is a good thing, because Frye has to easily be one of their 2-3 worst recruiters, and possibly the worst.

An OL coach that’s worth a crap, in conjunction with a good strength program, has zero excuses for not developing kids like Montgomery, Tegra, Padilla, Lowe, etc., into a good OL unit.

And in the 26 class, there are four really good in State lineman. Frye needs to sweep those four then hit a good one from out of state.

No thanks. Frye is done, he isn’t an OSU caliber coach or recruiter. Don’t want a rare good offensive line class save his job when he hasn’t earned it with the out of state kids

I think Frye is a glaring weakness on the staff. I just don't think he will get canned.
