Ohio State Football: Big Ten will do away with divisions soon?

The Ohio State football team has been the premier team in the Big Ten East for most of the time the division has been in existence. Before that, they were in the Leaders division. Soon, they won’t have to worry about being in any divisions at all after what the NCAA did yesterday.

The NCAA did away with any division requirements for conferences. That means that conferences can just have the two best teams face off in the championship game regardless of the divisions. The Pac-12 already announced they are going to do that starting this year.

It won’t be long before the Big Ten and other conferences follow suit. It just makes sense to have the two best teams in each conference face off against each other. While it could mean that the Ohio State football team takes on TTUN in back-to-back weeks, that won’t happen too often.
