Ohio State Football 2025

The Ohio State University Marching Band, known as "The Best Damn Band in the Land," has announced its new drum majors for the upcoming football season.

Joshua Ford, a fourth-year student from Gahanna, has been selected as the band's 66th drum major. Ford has been training for seven years to achieve this prestigious position.

Ford called it a family tradition, noting that his uncle served as the drum major from 1992 to 1993.

Joining Ford as the second in command will be sophomore Brian Speckman from Saint Mary's.

The band will make its first appearance of the 2025 football season in OSU's huge season opener at home against Texas, in a game that likely will feature two top-five teams.

Surprised by Quinn Ewers free fall in the draft. Maybe OSU lucked out with Ewers transferring out, or Ewers hurt himself by leaving.
"Ewers was drafted in the seventh and final round of the 2025 NFL Draft. He went to the Miami Dolphins with the No. 231 overall pick."

Not a big guy, not a strong arm, and not a speed demon.

Yeah, Ewers potentially taking a pay cut from college in going to the NFL in the late rounds. From his CFP performances, I saw non elite mobility.

I had previously mentioned OSU had no long snappers on the roster after Morrow Evans transferred as I thought 2 year starter John Ferlmann graduated. Turns out Inwas wrong as Ferlmann has one last year left. Bring it up because OSU got a transfer yesterday, presumably the back up longer snapper and heir apparent for 2026 in beyond as he has 4 full years of eligibility, in UNC’s Grant Mills.
