Notre Dame

They can but seem to want to spend $ on the portal, which is regarded. I’d rather spend $ on a 5* than borderline NFL grad transfers. I’d rather have Ryan Wingo from Texas than the 3 scrubs they pissed $ away
Spending money on proven college players instead of freshmen that likely wont contribute until year 2 at the earliest is dumb? lol

Yes. You’re settling for the low ceiling/high floor instead of trying to develop 5* with an infinitely higher ceiling.

It’s proven to matter in the aggregate.
Of course it does. 5*s still bust and 2* still outperform their ranking. Smart teams pull impact immediate need players no matter where they were ranked in HS.

Using your logic of HS recruit > transfer, Ohio State should have used NIL to get KJ Bolden instead of Caleb Downs (5* recruit) and Jason Zandamela instead of Seth McLaughlin (3* recruit). That would have been dumb.

To hit closer to home: Notre Dame is likely looking at an 8-4 or 9-3 record and out of the playoffs with any of the 5* QBs from 2024 (Sayin, Langway, Raiola) instead of Riley Leonard (3*).

ND’s pool of portal eligible players is much smaller. It’s incredibly hard to get undergrad transfers in.

I’d still rather have Deuce Knight in this class.

Freeman is one of the best recruiters in the country. I’d say that’s the biggest reason he got the job, bc he’s one of the few coaches that can shrink (not close) that talent gap bw Bama, UGA, OSU,etc. ND will never be as deep as those teams but when it comes to the starting 22, they might be able to get close enough where they can win a playoff game.
He's gonna get that chance in early January, in the ice and snow of NAWLINS! :ROFLMAO:

You shoulda ask ME. I coulda told you that ALL OL from Buford, STINK! With the best talent in the Southeast this year and last. Buford has lost in the quarterfinals and semifinals, back to back. And they had a Raiola at QB1, both seasons!

They don’t have anyone from Buford

Buford, lost to Carrolton, who is pretty damn good though

Opposite is true. UGA’s offense looked infinitely better with Stockton than they have all year with Beck.
I don't mind telling you, that THIS Bulldawg was REALLY surprised with his productivity. I was there the night that Stockton crapped the bed, against UGA OC Mike Bobo's alma mater, Thomasville. In the AA State quarterfinals, 47-17. The T-Ville secondary SHUT HIM DOWN! He is from an ALL WHITE hillybilly county named Rabun, in the Appalachian Mountains of North Georgia. And the WHOLE TEAM, LOVES HIM. Because he has a LB'ers MENTALITY! He'd rather run OVER you, than around you.

He threw for 71 yards and an Int that should’ve lost the game, need a bigger sample size.
And a UGA D that has been lacking ALL season, suddenly CAME TO LIFE against #2 Texas. In fact, in two games, the MIGHTY Horns have rushed for a BLISTERING SIXTY-FIVE YARDS TOTAL, and surrendered THIRTEEN SACKS against UGA!

Somebody on here said that Texas SHOULD have won. REALLY? UGA SHOULD have won against the crimson pachyderms as well, FIVE separate times, since 2017. But lil Nicky Satan pulled a wabbit out of his cap, EVERY time! The GOAT MY BUTT! The LUCKIEST of all time, maybe. He had NOTHING to do with ANY of those wins against the Dogs, other than benching QB'S who SHOULD Have been prepared in PRACTICE!

Do you know why UGA doesn't have to spend a King's ransom on NIL? It's because Kirby sells them the mantra, that if they come to the University of Georgia, and stay the course. They WILL be VERY HAPPY on DRAFT DAY! Because he and his coaches will MAKE YOU BETTER than you could imagine! Cases in point are, the 3 star kid from Milledgeville who begged for UGA to take a look at his tapes during Covid. Who was developed into the second round. And walk on Stetson Bennett IV, who is still dressing out for the LA CHARGERS! And the little white walk on, who Tennessee told was TOO SLOW, and TWO SMALL, Ladd McConkey! ***ROTFLMAO*** And last but certainly not least, a TE castoff from MIGHTY STANFORD, Yonoset! Who is NOW, the STARTING TE for the Georgia Bulldogs. And lest we not forget, the two walk ons, Dan Jackson, and Chas Chamblis, who ANCHOR the UGA D!

Because the players get free cars? And GTFOH with your ghey bulls**t. UGA has the top ranked recruiting class every yr. If Jackson and Chambliss are such a big reason they win, why not just recruit 3* tryhards? Oh because, those aren’t the guys that actually help you win, it’s the 5*/top 100 players. F’n dumb

Stupid decision by IU. Not only will they ruin graduation, but those who do go to the game will see their team get destroyed. Is it worth it?

They ruin graduation by changing the time a few hours? How's that? That article had to dig pretty deep, maybe even plant some clicks to get complaints. "had to change my restaurant reservations." lol GTFO. That sound like a solid concern for education?

Your best memories of college were standing around for hours waiting to walk a stage or are they of games, concerts, hanging out? If the game had been at IU, even giving it's even much less rare for ND to have success, you don't think there wouldn't have been a time change? Fooling yourself much?

It would be the stereotype of an aloof academic to NOT recognize that something real occurred. For many of those in Bloomington, this was the first time they ever shared a bench at a football stadium. IF a graduate is able to obtain a ticket, one year from now, you really think it will be the graduation they'll be remembering. Particularly if the game is good.

I think as your punishment for such a stupid thought, you should be forced to sit through.... ten large university graduation ceremonies in which you know no-one.

Lucked out in the ticket lottery, so I’ll be in attendance next Friday night to watch ND shut up Cignetti’s unwarranted arrogance.

As a fan of a team that lost to him by about 60, I'd say he has shown a lot of humility. Not many could handle as well the attention he's gotten for what is an all-time feat, regardless not the toughest schedule.

His first comments when taking the job, he's embarrassingly admitted were to try and rile up a fan base and he stepped out of his personality a bit. Even as a victim of them, i see they were funny. AND unlike some of the big mouths in sports, life and particularly anonymous message boards, they were said BEFORE the games where he would have to put up or shut up. I've not seen anything where he demeaned a single opponent after a game. His biggest shot was at the IU fan base and it was gentle, when commenting on them leaving it "must have been cold, but we'll fix that."

The ND fan-base on this board sounding a lot like those guys in Columbus. What have you done lately? ;)

That’s some god damn good football weather right there.
That campus has to be spectacular with a crisp blue sky and snow on the ground.

That's the only away game (Toledo) I've gone to where the home team makes it a point to make the visiters welcome and part of the pre-game, even pre-enter-stadium atmosphere. I would have loved to go to the Mississippi St game, as they apparently do also.
