Northwest Conference 2024

IDK, although Fort Loramie has Covington in the non conference, they also have Minster and Versailles along with actually having Grove as an opponent. I think that makes it tougher than Grove's.
If it wasn't for Covington I would agree. Covington's combined for 2 wins in the past 3 seasons - that makes for a pretty nice week off before conference play starts. Overall I think Grove's got the tougher non-conference schedule. PG, LB, and PH might not beat Minster or Versailles head to head, but they'd give them a game, and they're all perennial playoff contenders that have quite a bit back from last season.

Looking forward to our game tomorrow. I feel good about our first two scrimmages and we will be ready for Pandora and won't let the win slip away. Even though I think that helped us in the long run last year I don't think we need that this year. I also like that fact we can also take in another game on Friday!

Honestly being in the 40s-50s for some really isn’t bad at all.

I didn’t count 43 for Ada but could have been a few not dressed for scrimmages. With that said, this number makes me smile as this is the best in years for the Dogs.

That is the number of names listed obviously could have been a few quit or injured since turned in roster to paper. BTW 16 of them are freshman.

Grove and Jefferson got the nice wins last night. Shawnee beating LCC was a surprise to me. Sounds like LCC struggled early and came back late, but it was too little too late. I'd still expect LCC to be a contender for the NWC this year if their QB can mature through the season

From someone who was at the game it sounds like LCC didn't look great.

If the Loramie game goes like I think it might tonight us newcomers aren't exactly going to give off great first impressions.

If Loramie can keep it within in 7. I’ll call that a “win” for them. If Minster is going to be as good as people are saying! If Loramie actually wins the game! That’s great for the conference and will definitely put them on watch within conference

While I figured a win for CG last night -never thought it would be in blowout fashion like it was CG’s defense was rock solid and PG barely moved the ball against the first unit they basically only did anything with their firsts playing against Grove’s second team this is not a criticism of PG but rather a comment on Grove’s team defense which was much better than advertised Offensively Grove has so many weapons it is difficult to try and contain them all hopefully they can play this style all season Great first game for the Dawgs

Great first week for the conference. I hope for the same success in week two but this is the week things get a little more real
Bluffton rolls over PG, (looks like only cupcakes until conf play starts)
Delphos,,,gonna go out on a limb and say they get Parkway
Allen East, man respect for the schedule but that is a long trip to play a historical power house, I think Newark gets the stangs
Crestview gotta go with McComb here
Grove, picking LB, saw them at seven on seven they are impressive
Fort sorry it's Versailles
Spencerville gets the win over a struggling Wayne trace team
LCC,,,,,,,man I this one is tough but I will go with the Tbirds to avenge the last year loss.
I got conf 4-4 for week two

I was agree with most of this.
I think Pg and Bluffton will be close, but Bluffton pulls it out in the end.
Delphos played a very bad North College hill team. Parkway wins.
I think Newark get the stangs as well.
McComb has a terrible secondary. I think Crestview wins this one in the air.
You can’t judge anything off 7on7. I think Grove win cause of their Physicality overall.
Versailles over Fort.
I think the bearcats can pull out the win.
It will be at close game but I think DSJ wins it in the end.
So yeah looks like a 4-4 week 2 for the NWC

Great first game. Defense was solid, offense made some big plays. PG is not the team they were last year I admit. They lost a lot but we are better for sure. I wasn't surprised by the score.

Week 2 predictions:

Allen East @ Newark Catholic - Newark Catholic isn't the powerhouse they used to be.
Bluffton @ Pandora-Gilboa - Pandora is down significantly from last year.
Columbus Grove @ Liberty-Benton - Grove is on a mission.
Crestview vs. McComb - If the 7 on 7 against Grove was any indication of McComb's season, they're gonna struggle heavily this year.
Delphos Jefferson @ Paulding - The GMC is way down as a whole. Delphos has improved since last year, give them the nod in a close one.
Fort Loramie @ Versailles - Sorry FL, hopefully that schedule pays dividends come playoff time.
Lima Central Catholic vs. Delphos St. John's - Young QB will continue to improve and LCC has better athletes across the board.
Spencerville @ Wayne Trace - Bearcats ground 'n pound the Raiders to improve to 2-0

PG and Bluffton close? Not sure if you are just trolling or just don't know what Bluffton and PG have this year.....it will be a running clock to start the third

Nah, not trolling. Just making an educational guess. Maybe PG goes into that game all tick off of what happen the week before and plays better and at same time maybe Bluffton over looks them a bit just cause of what Grove did to PG. Or like you said 35-0 by halftime. Either way pirates will still win.

Told you guys last year we had a heck of a QB in waiting, calling it now he will be a 20/20 guy by end of the season, twenty passing/rushing TDs....

We looked good. We had some new players step into some holes they did a great job. I thought we played physical and fast. Our offense looked better than last year but we won't make stat predictions for the season. One game at a time. This is a big game this week but I think we will pull it out.

How did Grove look, sounds like they may have reloaded the O and D line
Offense looked way ahead of what it did at this point last year. Pandora did a decent job of bottling up Barraza although I heard he still had 100 yards, just not many big chunk plays. The focus on him though opened up everyone else for the big plays. Grove's defense didn't look flashy, just suffocated Pandora's offense. There was only 1 play I can think of before the JV's were in that Pandora had a chunk of over 15 yards. O and D line weren't tested very much, we'll get a better idea this week and know for sure against PH if they're legit or not

I'd be shocked if it was close for more than a quarter. Pandora will probably improve from week 1 and eliminate a lot of mistakes they made against Grove, they just don't have the horses like they did last year. Their running back is pretty good, just didn't have much opportunity until the JV got subbed in. They were definitely intentional about slowing the game down though to keep Grove's offense off the field, they'll probably do the same against Bluffton
