Northwest Conference 2024

CONGRATS TO MY COLUMBUS GROVE BULLDOGS WITH THE BUG WIN OVER LCC ABSOLUTE DOMINATION ITS NOT EVEN FUNNY AT THIS POINT. FOUR MORE WINS FELLAS I JUST GOTTA FEELING.

I BELIEVE!!!

WHO WOULD YOU GUYS CONSIDER THE POTG

great win for the pirates tonight, might just leave a case of Busch on coach diller’s porch tonight after the masterclass he put on especially in the first half

How the MAC hasn't just added Ft. Loramie regardless of numbers is crazy. Have the volleyball and girls hoops. Football is competitive usually. Just a natural fit.
Basement, they play in the Shelby County League outside of football. In some sports, if not all they play each team in the SCAL twice. This is probably the main reason why.

They both aren’t leaving the SCAL. Now if your argument was they should’ve been in the MAC instead of Anna then I can see that but back when Anna was added Ft Loramie was independent so not sure how those discussions went back then. It is interesting Anna started football in 2000 and Ft Loramie’s in 2005 so they both would’ve been new-ish.

They could potentially still be in the SCAL and in the MAC. Many SCAL teams don’t have football, so it could be the same as Grove in the NWC/PCL Leipsic/PG being in the BVC/PCL, just sucks when comes to basketball season your gonna have league games back to back nights in most of the weeks you play

Ft. Loramie isn’t in the MAC because the MAC has 10 football schools. Like @Clockkiller said, the SCAL plays league games twice in almost every sport, so unless that changes being a MAC and a SCAL member in all sports isn’t an option - that’s why Anna is a football-only member in the MAC. The only way Loramie gets into the MAC for football is if another team (looking at you, Delphos St. John’s) would leave the MAC. Then Loramie could be a MAC football member and SCAL for all other sports just like Anna.

Comparing Apples to oranges. There's no home and home in the PCL. If the SCAL went to single games in all the other sports then Ft. Loramie and Anna could easily do it and compete with MAC in all other sports as a league opponent, but I just don't seeing it happening. Ir's gotta make it easy on the scheduling each year. AD's gotta love it.

how many nwc schools does fort loramie play in other sports
I believe Crestview played them in boys basketball a few years back, or maybe it was Russia. I think there is/was a scrimmage in boys basketball as well. Other than that, it would be track at the Versailles Invitational or Minster Invitational. Maybe also in cross country at Coldwater or Celina.

Crestview girls basketball has played them a handful of times, either at regionals in Vandalia or at state.

Meant 2 current MAC schools get bumped & the 2 do both MAC & SCL like the NWC/PCL teams.

If St Johns would leave, we'd probably rather add a full member. If Fort Loramie is willing to do the 2 league thing, it might work out really well. Would also love to see Anna join the MAC in all sports

As a fan of Grove who's been a 2-league member forever (along with Pandora-Gilboa and Leipsic) - I think it would definitely work. Convince St. John's they should join the NWC, add Loramie and Anna full time, and the league games that the SCAL would lose from no more home-and-home games could be filled with SCAL/MAC non-league games, much like what the Putnam County League schools do with the NWC and BVC schools

What you mean?? Never said nothing about home and home?? I said What would the difference be if the Fort Loramie was in the MAC in all other sports while still being in SCAL? It’s the same as Columbus Grove and Pandora and Leipsic being in the PCL in all other sports besides football. I see it the same way as the SCAL.

I'm saying that is the big difference. The home and home that the SCAL does in their sports is a big reason why it's not like what PG, Leipsic, and CG does. I'm not saying your wrong, but I imagine Anna ad Ft. Loramie have no interest in leaving their County league. Like I said and others have is it's going to take the SCAL going down to one regular season game vs. their SCAL league opponents for them to go full on into another league. Then yes it would be like PG, Leiosic and CG. That's would have to come someone leaving the MAC.

Yup, my bad. I forgot they do play each other twice in a season in the SCAL I believe.

Hear of any locations yet for next week?
Grove and Mohawk I’ll guess might be Findlay, seems to be the best since it’s kinda in middle of the two schools.
Bluffton and Ottawa hills was at Napoleon last year, but with Napoleon still in I doubt it will be there. Maybe Defiance?

I hope it’s Findlay for our boys. Gives me an excuse to eat campus polyeyes pregame

Grove looks to be a lock for another Regional title, Bluffton looks to be back on track, love the Ottawa Hills matchup.
If Bluffton can pull it out over PH or Hopewell, what are the chances either team avoids the MAC semi pairing and heads east instead.
Clearly in Groves case ML, Minster, and Grove are way better than anything else out of D7. Seems like a no brainer to have a slightly more competitive title game than a blowout. I think Grove could at least avoid a running clock.

Bluffton played a team that couldn’t catch a cold Friday, there doomed.

Predictions this week:
Grove and Bluffton will both play for regional titles next week. I don’t see Ottawa hills or Mohawk being able to keep up with either team. Grove and Bluffton by 3-4TDs

Outside of tournaments everyone is a bit too far to justify in a non football setting, too many competitive programs in other sports much closer. We have played LCC a few times in basketball regular seasons that I can recall but that's about it.
