NFHS: Coach Responsibility for Bench Decorum Reinforced in High School Soccer Rules Changes

 
It will be interesting to see how referee management skills work out with this "rule change". There's a fine line between a coach that lets their players run amuck and kids that just lose control at times being teenagers. Even as a parent, you know no matter what you tell your boneheaded teenager, they still don't listen and do their own thing at times. I hope common sense prevails in most situations when hands aren't tied in decision making.
 
I think this rule change is primarily geared towards eliminating having an assistant coach as the team's designated 'card gatherer'. Seems like many teams would have their assistant doing most of the yelling and complaining at the ref, so the head coach doesn't accumulate cards. That won't be the case now.
