New Bremen at Versailles

2 weeks ago I would of picked Versailles to win this easily but since the Cards have switched QBs, New Bremen has found some offense albeit vs questionable competition. Two solid coaches who have turn their respective programs around esp. Schmidt (amazing job). Look for the Cards to break Versailles shut out streak but Tigers win 28 - 13.

2020 36 to 7 won by Home team with Senior Qb, NB State Champion 🏆

2021 29 to 24 won by home team with Senior QB VT State Champion 🏆

2022 14 to 7 won by home team with Senior Qb NB State Champion 🏆

2023 played at Versailles who has a Senior QB ....I hope the trend continues!

Tigers 39
Cards 0
Versailles hasn't shut out NB lately and I don't think we will this Friday. These groups of players and coaches from both teams have had too much success to shut out the other team. I expect a battle like two years ago with both teams moving the ball and working hard for a win.
NB 1st 2 opponent are showing some life. Bath is better than expected and NB blasted Mechanicsburg who could go 9 -1. As for Parkway, they may be descent but going to find it hard to get another couple victories.

I haven't watched NB on film this season so I am not predicting a score yet.

Cardinal offense has been a little inconsistent early in games, probably need to get settled in a little quicker Friday or it could get out of hand quick. The defense has played well, the only concern is tackling the quarterback. They seem to get good pressure but Parkway and Mechanicsburg had QB’s that were difficult to get to the ground, and I think we are going to see even better versions in the next couple of weeks. The Tigers, obviously, have the edge in this one. I think the Cards will need to catch a couple of breaks early, settle in and hopefully get a late turnover or two to pull off the win. That’s a lot to ask, I’ll go 28-14 Versailles.

27-7 Versailles

NB appears to be good with Thieman at qb, but V seems to be really strong this year. A truly dual-threat qb, multiple tough running backs (especially if Gehret is healthy), good receivers, stingy defense, huge roster - they apparently have no weakness an opponent can exploit.

It might be true that NB could play really well and still get beaten decisively.

Should be one of the best games in the conference this week and I plan to attend.

Three shutouts by Tigerball.... I look for the Cards to get on the scoreboard... but what i have seen , the Tigers are a machine this season... the boys from Darke county with the W... 35-7.....

The Tigers offense begins with the rushing of the RBs and I think NB will have to plan an extra player to stop it. This sets Tigers QB to have big game passing and running.
Tigers LBs cover a lot of ground on passing defense and may continue to intercept opponents.
I see this game being a 4 quarter one but Tigers winning barring that game that sure doesn't go Tigers way.
Tigers 27
Cardinals 10

Cardinals are getting Healthy from some earlier injuries, Some could be coming be back soon? I dont think the Cards have enough fire power to hang with the Tigers? I would favor the Tigers big in this one. Cards lost from last season and are still searching
for consistency from some youngers players and rotations.

heard their starting QB from week one will be back...

I also heard he would start practicing again this week, I would be shocked if they made a QB switch this week. But, I have been wrong many, many times.
if the boy is healthy, wouldn't you want to get your best WR back to his natural position? How has Thieman been throwing the ball, I assume he runs it really good

Would have been the score if not for missed extra point after TD #5.

Could have easily been a shut out but Thieman made a really nice catch and run with 2 1/2 minutes left in the game against Tigers JV D. Theiman is a nice player.
Game started out with a kick return to about NB 20 yard line by Michael Osborn called back by blocking in the back. This puzzles me when the Kick off team is running at the receiving team, how do you block them in the back?
Both teams had several holding calls neglect big plays.
In the end, the Tigers could run the ball better than NB.
