Interesting...

Nevada gaming regulators banned unlicensed daily fantasy sports websites from providing their product to Silver State customers, saying the activity constitutes sports wagering.

In an order filed by the Gaming Control Board Thursday, the agency said daily fantasy sports websites, such as DraftKings and FanDuel, can apply for a Nevada gaming license to operate a sports pool. The Control Board issued a "cease and desist" order that bans the websites from Nevada.

"Since offering daily fantasy sports in Nevada is illegal without the proper license, all unlicensed activities must ceases and desist from the date of this notice," wrote Gaming Control Board Chairman A.G. Burnett.

Burnett said Nevada sports book operators could offer daily fantasy sports, however, they "should exercise discretion in participating in business associations with daily fantasy sports operators that have not obtained Nevada gaming approvals."

Add in Louisiana is now bring racketeering charges against the sites: http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/draftkings-fanduel-accused-racketeering-new-lawsuit-n445571

To me if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck it is a duck.

This thing really got too big for their britches when I started hearing on the LV handicapping shows segments being carved out to discuss fantasy plays of the week. And because of the salary caps in all these games the keys are not the big names but the lower value guys who play lights out for a game, one of the services even has an ad campaign based around this. This has to be a profitable business model because of the amount of high cost advertising they are doing.

No kidding. Damn near every commercial break on ESPN radio has them and they're all over NFL games during commercials. That HAS to be expensive.

Heard an attorney on WLW yesterday afternoon that deals in that arena; he said they are loosing money big-time right now, but are hoping the investments in commercials will make it profitable over time.

Hope the feds run them through the wringer and put them away for a thousand years. Death to fantasy football.

Draftkings is the official league of the NFL....I wonder how much that cost them? FD does seem to have a lot more commercials.

havent did FF since the late 90's and dont think i will anytime soon. Those commercials are just waaaay too plentiful

In the end the government just wants a bigger cut of what is going on. Once they satisfy those requirements then it will all be hunky-dory again

Uh....OBDF has mocked the right by calling them "liberals" for years on here. Try to keep up.

I also love how defensive you get, especially with Sig, in any topic about gambling

I can't tell if he's sarcastic or not.
