Everyone with a brain in Struthers knows what to expect this season.

To me they’ll be similar to Hubbard the last couple years, talented but very young and should struggle on the LOS

I haven’t heard of this rule change or of this happening, but could be a good rule to help kids get another year of experience in if they were hurt for a full season. Also allows for more kids to get experience as well before going off to college. College game is changing so much I feel like it may start coming down to high school level soon.

I mean NIL is the next phase coming to the high school level at some point, it’s already here in some states. Game is changing as we know it and we won’t even remember it as the game we love. I could see all kinds of rules like extra years of eligibility eventually coming to HS.

So what do we think the league is looking like this year? Is there any clear soft spots or weak spots and contenders?
Poland should have a nice club. South Range will contend but has to rebuild the offensive and defensive fronts while the 'next set of Toys and Starkeys' step up. The schedule could favor the Bulldogs as the two teams meet relatively early in the season. It'll be interesting to see if the young Raiders 'over achieve'.

I agree Range will contend and they will be just fine. Not overachieving when the standard is set by the coaches. That’s what separates Range.

What about Struthers?

I tend to agree with this, I feel the league will be more offensive heavy this season. Poland Qb is a stud as well as the girard Qb that should be back from injury

Tons of respect for giving the Buckeyes a go, scored a TD at the 'Shoe', not many can say that, but this is a good move. Hope the young man's wheels are good to go.
Caffey had 2 knee injuries in 4 years at OSU. Not the back he used to be and YSU is deep at RB this year.

Pav has taken both Poland and Lakeview to a regional final, Poland will be fine
Wouldn't be terribly surprized to see a replay of last year's Reg.17 final, but with roles reversed. Could well be the Raiders looking to avenge the loss in the regular season. Wouldn't be shocked to see S.R. finish the regular season 7 - 3. NE8 streak ends.

I think Poland and South range are the top teams. Poland returns alot. SR will reload. I think Girard will be tough. Coaches son should return from injury. That RB was good last year. Does he return? Everyone else is a ? Struthers might be rebuilding. Hubbard might have a coaches son at QB? I don't know much about Lakeview, Niles

I do not see extra years of eligibility becoming a big thing.

Right now there might be a few kids repeat a grade here and there in most school districts by parents choice. Most of that goes unnoticed by the public. But the moment you have 20 to 40 kids repeating class, to exhaust their athletic eligibility, the tax payers will not stay quiet.

People have been holding kids back in 8th grade for decades and not many people blink an eye to it

Please read it again. I said as much. My argument is that it's still a few kids a year and it's quiet since it's 8th grade.

When it starts being a lot of kids, and it's visible because 20 year old Billy Bob has started for 6 years and Sally Sue is 21 years old and married but on a HS soccer team, you better believe tax payers will speak up against that, as they should.
