“Thompson's Perfect Season Earns Her MSL Buckeye Player of the Year Honors”

Christian Thompson has been named Player of the Year by the Mid-State League Buckeye Division girls basketball coaches, she led her team to a flawless 22-0 regular season record and a berth in the Division IV regionals. Thompson's a three sport athlete will transition to Columbus and be on the track team at Ohio State after graduation. Meanwhile, Fairfield Union's Keith Barr earned the Coach's Award, thanks in part to his team's perfect 12-0 league record under his guidance.

The First Team selections included POY Christian Thompson, a senior from Fairfield Union, and her teammate Maycee Martindill, a junior. Circleville's Addison Edgington, a sophomore returning from an ijury last year. Edgington also won player of the year in D-III district 10. Maddie Blakeman, a junior also from Circleville earned First Team honors. Rounding out the First Team were Kiannah Ingram, a junior from Logan Elm, Alexis Wooten, a junior from Hamilton Township, and Taylor Evans, a junior from Amanda-Clearcreek.

The Second Team selections included Kimmy Petty, a junior from Logan Elm, and Whitney Passen, a junior from Bloom-Carroll. Emma Sorrell, a senior from Bloom-Carroll, and Kaylie Wilson, a junior from Amanda-Clearcreek, also earned Second Team recognition. Jael Haynes-Lee, a senior from Hamilton Township, Macey Smith, a sophomore from Liberty Union, and Haedan Brunty, a sophomore from Liberty Union, completed the Second Team.

Several players received Honorable Mention recognition, including Taylor Smeck, a junior from Fairfield Union, and Myke-Kila Dean, a senior from Hamilton Township. Hayden Plank, a freshman from Amanda-Clearcreek, Tessa Brooks, a senior from Bloom-Carroll, and Brooklyn Cramer, a freshman from Circleville, were also honored. Rounding out the Honorable Mention selections were Gillian Savage, a sophomore from Logan Elm, and Davynn Miller, a sophomore from Bloom-Carroll.​
