Moeller as the Number 3 seed heading into the Capital Hockey Confrence playoffs beat the Ghanna Lincoln Lions 5-2 Friday night to advance to the Semi finals that would see the Crusaders playing the winner of the Dublin Coffman UA game. Coffman won 2-0 vs. UA and was on to face Moeller, whom they had beat earlier on in the season 3-0. The crusaders started off the scoring as #9 Dominic Visalli tipped a shot from the point by #8 Matt Korst. The 1st period came to an end with Moeller in the lead with a score of 1-0. In the second period the crusaders again came out with strong play and with a goal by #22 Ben Fessel putting the crusaders up 2-0. As the game was near to an end in the 3rd Period with 35 seconds remaining and the goalie pulled the Rocks where finally on board with a shot that was deflected in front. The Rocks late surge wasnt enough, and the Crusaders came out on top with a final score of 2-1.
Earlier on in the day the number 4 seed Dublin Jerome beat the Number 1 seed Olentangy Liberty Patriots by a commanding win of 3-0.
This set the stage for the Moeller Crusaders and The Dublin Jerome Celtics to meet in the finals for the Blue Jackets Cup. Faceoff will be at 6:00 Sunday night, at the Columbus Dispatch Ice Haus.
