Hours after Donald Trump announced in a caps lock rant that he anticipates getting arrested next week, his former vice president Mike Pence joined the chorus of Republicans criticizing the Manhattan district attorney and questioning his motives.

“Like many Americans, I’m just, I’m taken aback,” Pence told SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Saturday morning after Trump’s Truth Social post. “You have a major crime wave in New York, especially in New York City. You have literally a Democratic party that’s literally dismantled the criminal justice system in that city, undercut the NYPD, and this is what the Manhattan DA says is their top priority?,” referring to Alvin Bragg.

Would Trump be arrested in 2023 if he did not win the Presidency in 2016? Would he be arrested in 2023 if he didn't plan on running for President in 2024?

Well, let's review - and I do this as someone who wants Trump to fall down and break his mouth and fingers so he can't run in 2024.

We have a Soros prosecutor in one of the bluest of blue cities charging and prosecuting an alleged state crime that is predicated on a federal crime that the FEC and FBI/DOJ refused to touch and where even if the charge could be proven, the state and federal statute of limitations has run out. This particular prosecutor routinely fails to charge crimes where the proof of guilt is overwhelming. So, solid case there.

I know the Left is dying to see that picture of the Old Orange Bastard in handcuffs, but be careful what you wish for. Using this case to do it is going to make Bad Orange Man a legitimate martyr among his supporters and do the impossible of making him a sympathetic figure among anyone smart enough to see this for what it is.

People of the left always, always overplay their hand. It's a law.

Not sure what is overplayed. The list of people that have gone to prison because of Trump is long. Many think its about time he tackles his turn.

When transforming a country into a banana republic run by tyrants you always have political prosecutions as the tyrants attack the existing laws/ constitutions for power and control. The people and their representatives must know you can not fight the overlords or they will be imprisoned.

In the end they will come for their useful idiots also.

I'm with you......I've been rooting for the Leftists to take out Trump and clear the field for DeSantis, but they keep stepping on their pud. This Mickey Mouse, paying Stormy Daniels hush money BS ain't gonna' get it done. Even if the Leftys pull the trigger on Tuesday and try to arrest Trump, Governor DeSantis may very well deny extradition to New York and say "We're gonna' have our legal people review these charges here in Florida". That would score points with Trump loyalists and drive the Leftys bat shat crazy. The Leftists need to stick with what they are good at, fixing elections and selling out America to the highest bidder. They really suck at these impeachments and kangaroo courts......

The Left would make breathing illegal for Trump if they could.

We all know what the Stormy NDA was about - Trump taking out his trash. It's only illegal if the money came from campaign money or was illegal in some other manner. John Edwards' case kinda ruined this area of election law for prosecutors. But you also have statute of limitations issues with what Bragg is doing here, among many other problems.

I'm sure that Trump's lawyers will file a slew of motions to dismiss based on these issues, but the big question will be whether a leftist judge will do the right thing or serve her Lord and Saviour, George Soros. If it does go to trial, Trump has as much chance to be found not guilty by a Manhattan jury as Michael Sussman had of being found guilty by a DC jury.

The Left is all about undermining and destroying institutions they didn't create or that can't serve their interests consistently. Looks like criminal law is the target of the day.
