I wonder if Goodwin ever interviewed for any other head jobs before ML.LCC would have hired Tim Goodwin and MSML wouldn't have any football State Championship.

I believe Goodwin interviewed at Minster the year before he was hired at Marion.

Marion Local has picked up Bellbrook in a home and home week 1 in 2027 and 2028. Versailles has picked up Tippecanoe in a home and home week 1 in 2027 and 2028 as well.

Minster's DC accepted the HC job at Sidney, Coach Coleman, did a heckva job at Minster. He is currently a teacher at Sidney and was a Past assistant coach at Sidney before he came to Minster

It’s not Option Football, it’s double wing ball. They love to run two tight two wing and zero splits. Favorite play is FB Toss with QB also blocking. They will throw maybe three passes a game.

Thoughts on Marion vs Bellbrook and Tipp vs Versailles? Along way off, but interesting match ups.

With ML losing almost everyone with that special senior class who are the next guys who will step up? I know they still have #86 Huelsman and CB #4,all-mac hm, and I really like that freshman QB #14 they had this year. However, who else are going to be the guys? I know Goodwin and staff will do what they do and reload. Think they hit the ground running or it takes a few weeks to get to ML form?

Long way out, but the gate at city park when Versailles comes to town should be huge. If the teams were playing this coming season I’d say Tipp would be a decent favorite but hard to project 2 years out. Should be a great game, love seeing a matchup like that! Tipp and Versailles regularly played eachother from 1982-2000, Tipp did not have much success against Versailles back then! LOL. While it’s sad to see the Bellbrook vs Tipp game come to an end, I’m glad to see Tipp schedule another great program. Had Versailles and Tipp been playing from 2021-2023 we would have seen some amazing matchups! Good on Versailles for challenging themselves with a tough OOC matchup.

Over/Under on how many FR kids come out for football this year? I think we had 25 in the program last year.

Hopefully he can get them into the 40's. But if Parkways coach can get them into the 50's in his 1st year, then Wes certainly can.
Over/Under: 42 seems like a good bench mark. I'll take the over by a little bit.

FR kids are mostly farm kids, right? Typical for MAC schools. Does fair and harvest interfere? I remember Magoteaux giving us time off for the Miami County fair when I played at Milton. I know it’s important to these kids.

I know the QB for sure in T Lehman. Not sure if Summersett will be a WR or move to RB. I believe Patterson a decent low to middle weight wrestler should return to RB. Undersized but plays with heart. They had a couple other young RB & slots that looked promising. Line was an issue on both sides at times. They will throw the ball frequently and keep that formation to run as well. Defense gave up a lot of running yards last year. They made a huge comeback against Tri in early the playoffs and then made a surprise run all the way to semi state. They were playing with 1A runner up until 3 mins or so to half time. Believe they gave up 3 turnovers for scores with 2 pt conversions to go from scoreless tie to down 24-0 and they then were steamrolled.

The only issue with Vanlue joining is that Marion is not going to be ok with getting 2nd place every season.
